Revised version of the theory: Chernobog is the creator of Rumpelstiltskin’s dagger and somehow he got somebody to bring it to the Enchanted Forest. He comes to Storybrooke and he is mainly after Rumpelstiltskin and by association Belle. Everybody ( maybe Regina too ) has to team up with Rumbelle to take down Chernobog. Also he becomes the big villian of the show that everybody ( except maybe the villians ) has to take down.

That is an interesting theory. After watching the Chernobog clip I realize that I must have never seen all of Fantasia. I thought I had but I think I must have just seen parts of it. I’ll have to watch it.

OMG! Did you just mention Chernobog? I LOVE YOU SO MUCH RIGHT NOW! I’d give anything for him to apear on the show. But he’d have to appear in human form from time to time. It would be strange to have a big flying demon be the villain for the rest of the show. I’d like to hear him speak. 😆

Gosh, I’ve never heard of Chernobog before but you can bet it was something or someone pretty nasty who created the dagger.

Keeper of Pandora's Box & The Yellow Brick Road.

Also Chernobog’s dagger is overtaking and influencing Rumplestitskin’s actions.

But wouldn’t the creator of the dagger be allied with light, or at least against the Dark One? I see the creator as being someone, who, a VERY long time ago, created the dagger as a way to weaken the Dark One, whether by forcing it into a new “host”, or merely commanding the entity. There wouldn’t really be a reason for Chernabog to weaken the Dark One, as Chernabog is (in Disney, at least) the God of Evil, and therefore would not see the Dark One as a threat to his evil ways, like Cora and Regina did, but would see it as yet another way to spread evil.

I think the Dark One power was once combined with Blue’s power, (considering that she’s considered the “original power”), and somehow got separated. Whether it was Blue trying to rid herself of dark magic, or someone else stealing it from her, I dunno. Maybe it’s the latter though, and someone stabbed Blue, and that’s how the dark magic in her got transferred into the blade. Perhaps? That doesn’t solve the question of who made the blade though.

That is a good theory about the dark magic in the Blue Fairy transferred to the dagger.

That Chernobog seems pretty badass. I’m all for him being the ultimate villian who created the dagger.

This dagger and how you become the dark one suddenly made me think of this…

Perhaps it was just created by a particularly sorcerer and passed down through murder? I’ve always imagined it to be similar to the Elder Wand in Harry Potter… just more sinister and corrupting.
