We saw that when Sneezy crossed the border out of Storybrooke, he lost his memories. I was wondering, because this is a curse, if true love’s kiss can break this amnesia and bring back the memories? Dwarves do not fall in love (well except Grumpy/Dreamy) so we wouldn’t be able to test out this theory until someone who has a true love crosses the line. This also reminds me of when Snow took that potion to forget Charming and when they kissed she remembered. Thoughts?

Magic works different in our world. It’s true that the true love kiss was enough to break the curse, but that was a curse created in FTL, so probably it followed FTL’s rules of magic. Another reason is the fact that it is not an actual curse, it is, as i understand it, the price for break the curse. And finally, the magician wants to go outside and find his son, and he has a true love back in SB. If the possibility existed, probably he tried something (althought he has curses enough in him as to need an entire night of passionate love to be free from all, so maybe this last argument is the less useful)
But even if the true love kiss worked; it will be permanently? you must go back to SB to be kissed… once free from the curse, you will be again in SB with your memories, and the border will have still its power… it would be like a neverending circle.

Even though Rumple did call this the ‘new’ curse…but if he wanted it to be broken so badly I would think him kissing Belle would do it. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens if someone in love does cross the line! 🙂

I also think the only way anyone who was cursed will be able to leave SB is if/when Rumpel is no longer the Dark One, and as a result, no longer can do magic. If he no longer can do magic, maybe he’ll be released from paying a high price.

Hmm that’s interesting. But that also worries me because there are only two ways (that we know of) that Rumple can no longer be the Dark One. One, is if he kisses Belle (but that doesn’t seem to work in Storybrooke) and the other way is if he is killed with his dagger. And if he is killed I will be very VERY upset (I <3 Rumple)..
October 24, 2012 at 4:52 pm #157965thetricksterParticipantI wonder if the magic done by the Dark One remains after his “death” or disappearance; i mean, if Rumplestiltskin is dagged… then all the magic he has done disappears? Because if it is the way it is, the solution is quite obvious…
Nevertheless, I also wonder if there is possible for Rumplestiltskin to retain magic after break the curse of the Dark One. Not only because by doing this he can help to fix some stuff, but also because I don’t want him to loose his magic. You know, I like the idea of this old man becoming a quiet and respectable alquimist or magician…-but that is me, being fond of magic XDD-
