Okay, I’ll admit. THAT was a twist! I never expected Cruella’s backstory to be that she is, in fact, a sociopath.
What do you all think? Did you like the change?

Okay i didn’t think I would like this episodes since thought it was going to be the scorned lover. Never thought of that twist!
I loved her backstory but….
– So what exactly was she after from the author? Her ability to kill again? That’s….evil!
– What did she mean when she said “I will never go back to where I started” in the first episode?
– Adam and eddy said she got her powers from what she wears on her back…. That…was a lie.

I don’t recall them ever saying that in any interview. I remember it being a theory posted by some of us, so maybe you’re confusing fan theories with actual spoilers.

Not really. She got her powers from Squid Ink, which she wears on her back. And hair.

I may not be 100% on this but im like 87% sure this came from the mouths of the beasts themselves. Awhile before the first episode of this half. I recall that I said “maybe she is wearing a yeti or a bigfoot” or something to that degree. I’ll see if I can dig it up.

Yeah, they were probably hinting at her power of persuasion over animals.
I really hate it. Yes, it was a shock twist but that doesn’t make it good.
Just think about it – what does this really have to do with the Cruella we’ve seen thus far in the show?
It goes against the “Evil wasn’t born, it’s made.”
I do agree that sometimes we lack villains that are just flat out jerks. In real life, real villains are often just overly privileged people with no regard for others. I suppose Cruella was a rich girl with a sense of entitlement but she became like that so young.
OUAT has become a total trainwreck.
