OH MY GOODNESS THE DAGGER IS BACK!!!! Sorry, I just really had to let that out! But seriously, now we know the stranger has the dagger and it began to look like he might stab Mr. Gold with it. What do you guys think? Gold’s character is too powerful to kill off, so no worries there…I hope.

I am thinking that the stranger is Rumpel’s son, and he wants to get rid of his fathers powers so Rumpel is not able to cause any more harm/abuse magic.

Between the episode synopsis and the picture above, it sure looks like August can be Bae. Lissy you could be right. That was my first guess, that the stranger was Rumpel’s son, second guess is Peter Pan.

I’m super excited for the return of the dagger! Have suspected that’s what Mr Gold was burying the woods that time that Graham ran into him, and it looks like August somehow found it! Wonder if that’ll mean that August will have control over him now, (depends how the magic works in Storybrooke, if it works at all). Urgh, how are we supposed to wait 3 weeks for this?? LOL

I did see that and immediately, I thought, there is no way the Stranger is Pinocchio. I really don’t think there are many people in FT world who actually knew about the dagger.

Horder’s dead, the original Dark One is dead. The only other person who knew about the dagger’s existence is Baelfire, so it makes sense that the Stranger’s real purpose for coming to Storybrooke all along, it was to find the dagger so he can stop his father.

Thank you Lissy for the screencaps! 😀 😀

I read a theory someplace that maybe August is Merlin, which I could see. it would explain how he aged, how he got into Storybrooke, etc. I do think he’s Baelfire, but we need an explanation for his age,a nd Peter Pan is under copyright and can’t be used…
I really just want him to be Bae because I somehow LOVE the idea of Mr. Gold and Emma as in- laws 😛 Plus I’m hoping this addresses some of the Belle withdrawal we’ve all been feeling- they said shed appear twice before the finale!

I don’t understand how copyright laws work, so can someone explain why Peter Pan can’t be used? Is the copyright with Disney or J.M. Barrie’s family/estate?

Copyright laws usually are for the life of the author place 70 years. It is a special case for Peter Pan because the author gave the rights to a hospital and England passed a special law that allows the hospital to get royalties forever. Disney does not own the rights to any of the fairytales though most are in public domain because it has been 70 years since the death of the author. Disney does continue to own the rights to their footage or their names like the names of the dwarfs are Disney property. It is complicated though.

This doesn’t mean that they can never use Peter Pan. They just have to work something out with the copyright owner, the hospital.

So each time they want to use Peter Pan they have to get permission. Is that correct? Disney has already used Peter Pan which, if I understand correctly, does not extend to today. Do I have this right?

Does the copyright include the use of references to the Lost Boys or Neverland or just Peter Pan specifically?
