The Black Fairy raised Gideon in “darker realms” that are even outside Rumple’s reach. What worlds could these be? What sort of monsters, besides the Black Fairy, might live there? And what exactly does the Black Fairy want with Gideon?
[adrotate group="5"]"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"December 4, 2016 at 9:16 pm #331182TheWatcherParticipantSo I guess this confirms that Black Fairy and Blue aren’t the same person? Hmm. Darker realms. Outside of Rump’s reach (*cough* like all the realms, Rumpel?! Burn!!) Uh… hmmm. Interesting? I honestly don’t know. Maybe she lives in, like, the world of the cenobites or something.
Hoenstly I bet we aren’t even going to get an answer to this.

The Underworld wasn’t dark, it was corrupted by Hades. But we’ve seen that the Dark Ones originated in the EF and so far as we know, so did all magical creatures like fairies. So I really have no idea.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"December 4, 2016 at 9:40 pm #331189AKAParticipantThis confused me also. I have several questions: Was the Morpheus dream child the adult “dark” version of Gideon? Why else would he encourage Belle to send him off with the fairies? Did Rumple say she was a dark shadow? So maybe she is the original shadow from Neverland and that is where she met Malcolm. Malcolm went to Neverland because he use to visit it in his dreams. What does the Dark Fairy do with the children and why does she steal them in the first place? What is her ultimate goal for Gideon? Does she just want him because he is her grandson? I still think she and Blue might be the same person, which would make sense of why Blue gave Bae the bean. Maybe she originally thought Bae would work for whatever plan she had but since he was not conceived while Rumple was dark one he wouldn’t work ? Hopefully they will answer all the questions and more.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I even joked about it to RG a few days ago.

On the show Charmed, there was a very magical baby born, and they learned via time travel that he would grow up to be evil. The parents spent a lot of time trying to find out what happens to make him evil, so that they can change it.
But apparently someone they trust (a teacher at “magic school”) has a different approach to stop this future evil: he is secretly attempting to kill the baby. But of course the baby is too powerful for him, and he has to keep trying over and over. The parents finally figure this out and stop him. But they realize that the trauma of defending himself, and this betrayal by someone everyone trusted, was the actual thing that would have turned this baby evil.
This traitorous teacher was named Gideon!

First, I thought the DO curse was darkness to end all darkness.
Secondly, he has now all the power of the previous DOs plus his own (i.e. he is now the Ultimate! Dark One), so why would he not be able to go there?
Rumple said that these dark places make no sense. I guess that place/those places will be our next world to visit, and because it/they make no sense, the writers can get away with writing all kinds of nonsense?

That was my favorite line of the night because it perfectly captured a lot of the writing and how the writers think: this won’t make any sense, but if we want it to be a thing, it’ll be a thing.
