So that was weird. Him blacking out like that. It made me wonder, if the hert that was found, isn’t Kathryn’s but his! Probably not, but Regina being his emergency contact and Kathryn’s friend had plenty of time to somehow get it. If it’s Kathryn’s heart the same question as to when was it taken arises. Ok, going off the main topic.
Back to the reasons David may have the blackouts:
1. Regina has his heart and can control it.
2. With the turn of events, trying to find someone desperately, David’s subconcious is reminded of the quest to find Snow. When he goes into this “blackout time” his Charming side takes over, not that he remembers, but that he has to find someone/something. (That’s what I believe, actually.)
3. It’s a simple relapse because of the coma. (Just putting it down for completion. Seems very unlikely and not the purpose of the show.)
4. He’s faking. (as above)What do you think?

And maybe when he got too close to the boundary around Storybrooke it caused his memory to go strange again. Or maybe Regina is messing with the curse or the curse is still trying to work on David. David said in 7:15 that he had memories of feelings of loving Kathryn and real feelings of loving Mary so it seemed like his two selves, meaning his real memories and his fake memories, are waring with themselves.

It is starting to seem like when the characters get into something similar to their FTL environment where they have a similar “job” to do something kind of “clicks’ inside of them and they start to, at least on some level, revert back to their old habits even if they don’t know why.

1. I’m not comfortable with Regina and Rumple able to do magic in Storybrooke. I mean, we haven’t seen them cast any spells, or do anything that can’t otherwise be explained away. Except…the way Regina killed Sherriff Grahm. I can’t easily explain that away except magic. (Also in the same episode, both Grahm and Emma could see a wolf, which lead them to Henry Mills coffiin. Weird.)
2. I don’t know. Then why did he not react when he was talking to MM? If he was looking for Snow, then he should have shown some kind of reaction when he bumped into MM in the woods.
3. Yeah, that’s the most reasonable explaination. Which means it’s a red herring 😀
4. okay, sure. why not. ❓

I don’t think he was dead in FTL. He was dying, however. He was stabbed in the abdomen which wouldn’t kill immediately. (Well, in the wolrd of Hollywood, heroes don’t die right away — only bad guys die immediately when stabbed in the gut.)
However, he might have accidentally crossed the Storybrooke border and was zombi-fied for a time. THAT sounds plausible. Nice Thinking!!!

Maybe David was having a moment from when he was Charming. This must mean that Emma is really breaking the hold on the curse and Regina is fighting to keep things the way she wants them. And that is why Dr. Whale suggested therapy, to get him back on track with the curse!
I originally thought that Regina did something to David, making him have the lapses, which would then make him look guilty. He would, in turn, feel that he did something to Katherine. I was blown away with how they switched it around at the end.
March 12, 2012 at 5:15 pm #138676SnickerdoodleParticipantMy first thought was that he was looking for Snow as well. I like the idea that the SB boundary somehow discombobulates the FTL characters or refuses to let them leave without consequences.

If so, perhaps this current state is a result. I don’t want to think so, but…if I combine that with Gold’s “spot of gardening,” I have to wonder.

I’ve been thinking about what David was looking for. Dr. Whale suggested that David was just returning to his comatose state (if we are to trust a man that got his medical degree from a curse). Thus his non-cursed state? In his non-cursed state what was he looking for? Initially I thought it would be Snow since he was near the Troll Bridge (according to Emma). But he ran in to MM/Snow and was still in his state of mind. Was he maybe looking for baby Emma?
My reply there was:
Perhaps David was looking for his true identity. He seemed to be in a limbo state, like between a hazy dream (SB) and reality (FTL). I think that when Mary Margaret read to David, it caused him to wake up from his comma. Then, he was in a comatose like state, and though functional, made his way to the troll bridge, because he was searching for something familiar. Yet, it wasn’t until Mary Margaret found him and gave his a kiss of life that he awoke again. Could he have slipped back into a comatose-like state after Mary Margaret rejected him?
I’ll add here that I thought it was very interesting how David’s moments of amnesia in SB seem to parallel the blackouts Red had in FTL when she was in her wolf form. I think the writers are highlighting this for a reason.

I feel that because Prince Charming was in a “dream state” almost (I say almost because he could have been on his death bed kissing the earth goodbye as he floats to heaven or to whatever) just before the curse hits, he may have been able to retain some memories, but the curse is trying to stop him from remembering and he may be battling with the curse within himself. You can compare it to how Graham had been before he died. He saw Emma was angry with him and that brought up negative mojo. How he was so confused, regretful, and was looking for answers . He was trying to understand why he couldn’t feel anything for Regina. Perhaps when David was full of concern with Kathryn, it brought back terrible emotions that is driving him to try and remember what is going on within him. He’s looking for answers, basically, and that’s why he’s like going nuts. Gosh, someone needs to tie him down or something. Can’t have the pretty face getting scratches.
