Well it did see the future and rather than it being a self-fulling prophecy; it was a situation that would come to pass if Emma was sent to FTL. Also, the curse’s true-love breaker clause might have influenced Mr. Gold to pick Emma’s son to ensure that the curse had a chance of being broken.
Admittedly, I like the explanation that Mr. Gold knew all along and manipulative everything to work out… very simple explanation. Honestly, though, everyone including the BlueFairy probably thought that SW would get to SB when the curse consumed her.

Is everyone talking about what the writers said at PaleyFest (about Rumple remembering or not)? If so, when I heard it, I thought that their answer to that question was ambiguous. Did they talk about it in another interview?
I keep hearing that people have hear or read that the writers confirmed that Mr. Gold didn’t remember until they he heard Emma’s name. I finally found a link where they very briefly alluded to this idea, but I would not say they confirmed it. They just suggested it as a possibility. Watch for yourself. For these writers, confirming is when they say it as a fact or confirm with a yes. Otherwise, they leave things very open ended because they like possibilities.

At around 6:37 in the video, Eddie Kitsis and Adam Horowitz confirm that Mr. Gold remembered when he heard Emma’s name.
Yet, after watching this clip again, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AJH9DXuTgQ) I still find it hard to believe that finding Henry was a complete accident. Hopefully we’ll find out more about that in season 2. I guess that’s just something more to theorize about during the long summer hiatus.

For all we know, Bae knows that Storybrooke exists.

Is it confirmed that Rumpel was the one that gave Henry to Regina, because that would be the only flaw I could see in him not remembering the curse.
Gold said so himself in episode 2, The Thing that You Love the Most. Here’s the clip. If you scrub to around 0:59, that’s when it comes out about ‘the deal.’ And Gold teases Regina about which deal she is alluding too.

So perhaps Bae was the one that manipulated the adoption center to giving Henry to Rumpel who then gave him to Regina.
That or someone else who was from FTL that wasn’t affected by the curse, and who knew of the prophecy.
May 25, 2012 at 2:12 pm #147723JosephineParticipantBut Bae, I like how a lot of us have assumed and take it as fact that Bae is Henry’s father, didn’t even know Emma was pregnant. I don’t think he’d do that.
One of my thoughts is that it’s just fate, or actually the curse, that brings Henry to Storybrooke. But I know we’re going to have a more complicated story. I bet the Blue Fairy is involved in there somewhere.
Keeper of Rumplestiltskin's and Neal's spears and war paint and crystal ball.
May 25, 2012 at 11:48 pm #147743kissoffkateParticipantPerhaps the idea is that ‘good magic’ is so much stronger than ‘bad magic’ that it works kinda like Fate and Henry’s adoption wasn’t part of anyone’s evil plot, but rather the inevitable plot of a happy ending.
May 26, 2012 at 3:02 am #147753LisaFromOHParticipantThanks, sjm and Maze! Now I really want to know how Henry came to be adopted by Regina. I like your theory, KissOffKate. Hopefully we’ll find out in the second season and it won’t just remain an unanswered question.
May 27, 2012 at 1:57 pm #147808hjbauParticipantI also like the idea that it was just fate and destiny that Henry was to be brought back and was not part of some sort of evil plan. And if Henry was steered to Storybrooke i want it to be by someone other then Rumpel. It may have been that only fairytale characters can enter town so Henry could have been the only child that could be brought there.
