In the story Peter Pan, his shadow gets caught in the window as someone shuts it. He later returns to the Darling’s window and enters the room to retrieve it.
In the promo, where we first see Neal Cassady, he drops his phone out of the window (just like Peter did in the movie Hook). However, note that the phone is an elongated phone with a keypad at the bottom.
Here is a picture of T-Mobile’s HTC model called The Shadow:

Maybe Faux Pax, but as Gypsy said, that whole window scene was about Peter Pan. Wouldn’t be the first time I was told I grasping at straws. However, sometimes theories, like Frankenstein’s, do pan out. (gosh, I can’t type a thing this morning! Had to edit a 3 sentences twice! 😆

That is an interesting observation GoldenKey and your Frankenstein theory does appear to be spot on.
In another thread, I posted a theory about Henry’s father being Bae’s son. What if, rather than using the character of Peter Pan, the writers are distributing aspects of the story to other characters. (Perhaps not just any characters either but characters related to Rumple). For example:
Rumple cut off Hook’s hand. (Peter did this)
Your theory about Mystery man losing his “shadow” at the window. (Peter lost his shadow) I believe mystery man to be Henry’s father who is Bae’s son.
In my theory posted here https://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=19&p=22924#p22924 Bae comes through to our world. He is upset and emotional and a girl (Wendy) comes up to him and asks “Boy, why are you crying?” (Wendy asked Peter that question)

One thing I noticed on re-watch of Desperate Souls is that Bae says he is 3 days away from his 14th birthday which is when he would be sent off to fight in the Ogre Wars. In Hook, a grown-up Peter has 3 days to prepare to battle Hook.
And then there’s the near constant referral to Bae as being either “lost” or “boy” (Peter is very often called just “boy”).
As Peter Pan traveled back and forth between our world and Neverland it’s entirely possible that Bae somehow ended up there and just got stuck in our world at the time of the curse.

Hi Kat 🙂 Yes, I am so hoping Neal turns out to be Peter Pan. I’m 99% certain that he’ll be Henry’s dad and Bae and 90% that he will also be Peter. Here’s a link to my theory about it if you want to have a look. https://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1462

Gosh, so many of us really want Bae to turn out to be Peter Pan! 😀 I’ll head over and check out your theory, Love reading everyone’s thoughts and ideas 😀

October 28, 2012 at 2:24 pm #158256hjbauParticipantI would say like 25 percent change he is someone else like Peter Pan or Jack. 99.3 percent he is Henry’s father. And 80 percent he is Bae. There is a lot of give with the idea that he went to another world besides our world first. That seems unlikely to me.

Another poster, Charming, made a great point this morning on the thread titled Baelfire. Stated that in not identifying Bae as Peter Pan or any other character at this point and time, it gives leeway for adding so many more characters into the story. So, you could be right hjbau.
