I want your input on something I’m considering for ONCE podcast.

We get a lot of feedback about Once Upon a Time. This feedback ranges in topics:

    • Stuff viewers liked or didn’t like about episodes
    • Theories—some good, some far-fetched
    • Questions about plot points or other details
    • Stuff that stood out or resonated with viewers

Obviously, we’re only able to fit in a small portion of the feedback into each in-depth podcast and we try to incorporate ideas and give credit to suggestions when possible. Often, we can’t use feedback in the podcast because it’s unrelated to the episode we’re discussing, it’s too far-fetched, it’s too long or covers too many points, it’s redundant or too similar to other feedback or our own sharing, or it’s not feedback that can inspire discussion.

I hate to discard so much feedback just because it doesn’t fit in our episode-specific, in-depth discussion.

So I’ve wrestled with this idea for a long time. Do you want an additional weekly podcast episode focused on this feedback that we don’t include in the regular discussions?

This might be a Friday- or Saturday-night live episode (trying not to conflict with RoneyZone’s OUAT Fan Podcast) with just Jenny and me, as well as live callers.

If we do this, here’s what the schedule might look like (times in ET):

    • Sunday at 9:15pm—episode initial reactions with Daniel, Jeremy, and Jenny
    • Wednesday at 8:30pm—episode full discussion with Daniel, Jeremy, and Jenny
    • Friday or Saturday night—episode and general feedback with Daniel and Jenny

I face certain technical restrictions with posting more episodes, too. With an additional hour per week, this may increase our media-hosting bill, but it also provides more sponsorship opportunities. It may also cause issues with some podcast programs that only download the latest episode, so the feedback episode may be missed.

So before you answer the poll, “Yes, I’m such a OUAT-addict that I MUST have more podcast episodes” ;), please answer based on whether you think this is a necessity. If you’ve sent feedback that wasn’t included, were you put off by that? Do you wish you could hear more theories and feedback in the podcast, even if it’s a little redundant, already answered, or far-fetched (worse-case scenarios)?
