I definitely like the red room theory. To answer the original question, of course Neal will learn Henry’s whereabouts. I think he’ll communicate with them through the red room and then make a portal to Neverland to help rescue Henry and then he’ll come face to face with PP ( his former captor) and realise that it’s him who wants to kill Henry. So he’ll have a big epic battle with PP and finally defeat him and everyone who was trapped in Neverland will finally be able to leave.
Just my theory let me know what u think.

Either Neal communicates with Henry, or he communicates with Snow or Charming all through Aurora who can visit the red room still. I think it depends on where A and E want our cast to be by the end of the first half of the season: NL or SB? If the goal is to get everyone to NL then they can’t rescue Henry right away, meaning they need to delay his whereabouts for awhile.

Or there’s also the possibility that Belle will get involved somehow. Maybe she’ll find Nealfire in FTL, (I really just want her to go back there so she can hang with Mulan again for a bit and catch up), and maybe they’ll have someone from THO captured in SB and they’ll interrogate them to find where Henry is. Nealfire interrogating someone from THO to find his son could be a nice little parallel scene to Greg interrogating Regina to find his father.

It’s all just guesswork for us right now, but I reckon they’d want to use NL for more than just 11 eps because PP is a fave of theirs and it’s a story and a land that they’re dying to delve into. I’ve been thinking that they likely can’t leave NL until PP is defeated, if he’s the one who has control over who can and can’t leave, and I’d like to see him in Big Bad Creepy PP mode for more than half a season.
We’ll also potentially have mermaid stories to tell while there. We dunno yet if they’re gonna include Tiger Lily, but that’s another option. And I would imagine that our good guys will want to free all the imprisoned, crying Lost Boys as well, (who I’m imagining are different to the Lost Ones we’ve already seen). I’ve also been wondering if Wendy might be in present day NL, held captive by PP after she tried to find Bae to bring him home. Have decided it could be cool if, after PP is defeated, Wendy takes over ruling NL, in keeping with her traditional role of a mother figure looking after all the Lost Boys.
Anyway, none of that may happen of course, but I’m just saying, I can imagine that they’d have more NL story to tell than can be told in 11 eps.

The first half could be heavy NL and PP but the second half focused on PP’s minions and THO. I just don’t see them introducing an entire new myth and storyline into the second half. I know they said that each half is its own season almost but they have to be connected. Maybe the mermaids will be second half; might make more sense that way if PP is taking center stage for part one, they can’t overwhelm us.
