So, I was thinking about Neal being Bae, as you do, and I suddenly realized something. Something that’s a little bit, ah, creepy.
If Neal is Bae, then that makes Rumple and Mihla Henrys grandparents, right? And it makes them Emma’s great grandparents? Or is it her aunt and uncle? I get confused with all this family tree stuff. Doesn’t really matter, they’re related.
I don’t see any way that Rumple or Milah would be related to Emma in that scenario. Are you assuming that Rumple is Regina’s father instead of Henry? That’s still only a theory rather than canon to the best of my knowledge. Is there some other connection that I’m missing?
Neal being Bae would still make Milah the grandmother of Henry though.
That’s what I wasn’t sure on. I think it makes Mihla Emma’s Aunt, not great grandmother, or is it? I’m not sure. I think its Aunt. And if Hook and Emma get together, he’ll have been with both Emma and Emma’s Aunt. Plus think about it. Neal and Emma were together and had a child, Henry, and then Neal’s mother was with Hook and now wants to be with Emma. Can you imagine Neal and Hook talking. “Oh, hey Neal. i used to date your mom, and now Im going to date Emma, who you had a child with.” That’s just creepy. Ewww.

I was always rather fond of the idea that Neal might be Bae’s descendent. That makes the blood on the globe thing work too. But the idea that Emma just happened to stumble across him amongst all other people, have child with him, and then that child just happened to end up with Regina, is almost ludicrous to the point of absurdity. That’s not chance, that’s planning. And Im awfully suspicious about both Neal and August right now. Where is Mr Booth anyway? And I don’t care what magic widget in a box you’re showing me, you don’t abandon someone you supposedly love, never mind getting them sent to jail as well.
I think we still have to consider as well who gave the globe to Rumple in the first place – Cora. Can’t really trust her that’s for sure..
If Neal is Bae’s descendent, wouldn’t the globe also show Henry as well then?
Have there been any spoilers on where August is? I haven’t thought about what he’s been up to in a while but there might be something going on with him.
Yeah, she could have messed with it to get rid of Rumple. And their are spoilers related to why she would want him gone for a while.

I bet the OUAT writers have a big whiteboard chart to keep track of all this stuff 😆
I want to see that chart. I actually started making a mock-family tree of my own for the Charmings.

If Bae is Neal then Milah and Rumple have no relation to Emma at all. If Neal and Emma had married, Milah and Rump would just be Emma’s in-laws. Not aunt, not grandmother, no. Father and mother in law. If they had married. But they didn’t.
If Neal is Bae, then Rump and Milah are just the parents of the guy Emma slept with.

Exactly. That’s why this topic was confusing me, and I was asking if they were assuming the theory about Regina being Rumple’s daughter was true or something. Even that wouldn’t make Milah connected to Emma, but it would still have more bearing than Emma’s ex-boyfriend on her relations.

January 30, 2013 at 6:17 am #170644swanhookParticipantEmma wouldnt be related to Rumple or Milah. If she was married to Neal, then yes, but she isn’t. Rumple and Milah are only Neals’ parents and Henry’s grandparents and nothing more.
I dont find it weird or ‘creepy’- if they were all blood related then it would be a different story. I don’t really see the big deal here. But (assuming Neal is Bae), I can’t wait to see Rumples reaction when he finds out that henry is his grandson! This is going to be awkward for everyone.

As it looks Emma and Milah are not blood related, it might be awkard for Henry if his father is Bae, but it wouldn’t be a creepy relation if Hook and Emma ever will go there. Unless one finds any flirt of Hook kinda creepy but out of different reasons.
Find it amusing, that people seem to have a problem with old Rumple being in love with Belle, but not with old Hook flirting with Emma, just because they don’t notice the age of Hook because he didn’t age biologically, and was somewhere in his 30 maybe when he went to to Neverland and stopped aging. Rumple looks older, Hook does not, so no one is creeped out by the view of Hook flirting with Emma. Looks do make a difference.
As it does make a difference in moral judgment for most if someone is in some degree blood related or not. It’s based on incest taboos every culture has, though the taboos vary.
But is that all? Now don’t get me wrong, in my opinion Hook didn’t destroy the marriage of Rumple and Milah, there was not much left to destroy anyway, as I see it Hook was just the trigger for Milah to leave Rumple. Neverthless, the way Hook is already involved with Rumple and his family it does give it an extra note, that Hook is flirting with Emma, doesn’t it? Of course only if Neal is Bae, thus Rumple’s son, Henry’s father and Emma’s (teenager) love. In that case Hook flirting with Emma is playing with fire, messing even more around with this family. Hook doesn’t know, yet, will be interesting if he cares when learning who Emma has a child with, who she was in love with.
Anyway, don’t find it creepy, just somewhat wrong.

Yup, would like to take a look at their relations and family chart too.

The globe could have required blood to operate to find your hearts desire or it could simply be that it finds direct descendants like a son or daughter but not grandsons or great grandsons. We really don’t know how the thing works and I’m not really sure they will ever explain it.
@myril…the thing that bothers me about that is if Neal turns out to be Bae and Emma and Hook wind up together that it means Hook took his mother from him and then the mother of his child and considering his tragic life that is beyond sad (and does sound way too much like a soap opera). -
