While we are in a storyline where Rumple is in a quest to contain powerful magic in that hat, I fear for Henry and/or Baby Neal if they display signs of having the gift of magic.
I’m not sure Rumple would harm his own grandson. (Except for that one time when he tried to cut the cords on the swing set) but, whatever. I think he at least has enough respect for his own son, Neal, not to hurt his son.
However, baby Snowflake, is another matter. I think Rumple might be VERY interested in that baby.
I think we will see Snowflake’s magic sooner rather than later.

Good point.

I highly question Rumple not harming Neal’s family. Rumple made a promise at Neal’s grave to turn over a new leaf but went right back to his acquistion of power as soon as that darn sorcerer’s hat appeared. Rumple didn’t have enough respect for the memory of his son not to target Emma in this episode. But as for Henry, maybe Rumple would be more interested potentially in training his grandson as his own protégé.
However, baby Snowflake, is another matter. I think Rumple might be VERY interested in that baby. I think we will see Snowflake’s magic sooner rather than later.
Yeah I agree. Baby Snowflake being his son’s namesake doesn’t seem like a big enough reason to spare the poor babe. And I also agree that I think baby Snowflake will be showing some sort of magic ability.

In the scene at the Sheriff station when she was trying to rile Emma up she was all, “Your folks must be so happy that their replacement baby was born normal,” (or words to that effect).
The heart of the truest believer. I can’t beleve that the heart is so powerful as just a item for a spell, but then the owner of this very heart has none magic at all. This is not logical for me.
Agreed. Of course, dropping plot points is a thing that happens, but they did bring it up again in this ep where Emma was coming to terms with her powers, so it seems to be something they wanted us to be reminded of.
So I think he has everything he needs to do magic. I think it can even go deeper. I think he can be a balance of magic, where it will not be good or bad magic anymore, because evil or good, it is never that simple. He will be the greatest of all, the pure Magician.
Yeah I think ultimately he’s gonna be the balance between light and dark magic. Genetically he’s got light magic, and he was raised by and is now working for practitioners of dark magic, so he’s been influenced by both sides. A theme of this show is how people have both light and dark in them, and I’d say he’s gonna end up being the perfect balance and will end up being iconic for it.

He could become the first Dark One who didn’t do it for personal gain.

Henry having the heart of the truest believer seems to make him especially well-equipped for this task. Perhaps Rumple telling Henry in the 4×2 deleted scene that his dark one’s lineage and savior’s blood would come to mean something one day was foreshadowing of Henry’s destiny as a future Author. Henry having the lineage of light and dark magic means he is ideal to take up the mantel of the Author one day.
