I agree fairytaleprincess. I think that a curse did not occur to the blue fairy because she is good until Rumpel mentioned it.

April 23, 2012 at 9:40 pm #143457fairytaleprincessParticipantSo then the question is why can’t others remember? Blue Fairy, Rumple and Ragina all remember. August knows because he is from FTL but we don’t know who he is yet. Jefferson knew and disappeared into the hat. That makes 5 people that know the truth. To me that is a fair number. 6 if Nova remembers.
Are those characters cursed to not tell the truth because if that is the case the Blue Fairy is going against what fairies do. Rumple said “You’re lying!” and she said ” We don’t do that.”
April 23, 2012 at 10:36 pm #143475hjbauParticipantI don’t think the Blue Fairy has her memories though i also don’t think Rumpel got his memories back until he met Emma at Granny’s inn and heard her name in the pilot.
April 23, 2012 at 11:41 pm #143490lorem ipsumParticipantI don’t think the Blue Fairy/Mother Superior remembers. Nor do I think Mr. Gold remembered when he heard Emma’s name. I believe he never forgot. I think when hearing Emma’s name Mr. Gold realized the curse is in its final stage(s).
Mr. Gold and Regina remember their FTL lives. Jefferson remembers, yet he was stuck in Wonderland making hats when the curse struck. Was Jefferson transported to SB because he is originally from FTL or did everyone from Wonderland end up in SB? If so, do all the Wonderland characters remember too? Besides Mr. Gold and Regina, no one who was actually in FTL when the curse struck remembers their life there (in FTL). So my question is how does August remember? Was he in another realm when the curse struck or are his memories intact his unhappy ending (like Jefferson’s)?

I don’t I know since Rumple designed the curse with a specific intent in mind of finding his son he would have made it so that his memories would remain intact. But of course you could be right and he made it with the intention of having some kind of trigger to remember why he’s there hearing Emma’s name being that trigger.

And it seemed like Gold didn’t do anything that made Regina wonder about his knowledge until after Emma came into town. And honestly, i think Rumpel would have been better off not know what was going on into Emma came into town because being stuck in time does not sound like fun to me.

It’s almost a reverse to the Rumple tale of knowing a name. He needed to know the name so when the savior showed up, Rumple would know and watch. I don’t think it was a trigger to Rumple’s memories. I believe it was a trigger for the curse, the end of the curse. Rumple is the only person, besides Henry, who realizes the end of the curse is near. As for Gold doing something before Emma came to town, that would be a backstory to SB since the pilot starts with Emma coming to town. We have no idea who did what or didn’t do what before Emma’s arrival. What we see and know of SB begins with Emma’s arrival. So far all of the flashbacks, backstory has been told through FTL. SB is moving forward chronologically.

There is defnitely something interesting about her. I have this uneasy feeling that the Blue Fairy isn’t on the side of the angels, as it were … not necessarily that she’s evil, but she’s rather thoroughly on her own side. And that’s not the side of mankind.
She did orchestrate an awful lot of things, didn’t she … in a way, she made it necessary for Rumple to come up with the curse. And then possible for Emma to escape that curse. I wonder if she’s pulling strings toward an end we cannot (yet) see …

I tend to agree with you. I always felt they would eventually introduce us to the “ultimate power” in FTL, which turns out to be the Blue Fairy. She said something interesting in episode 19, she said “I’m on the right side” when talking with Bae about good and dark magic. She never said she was on the side of good. So, this still leaves it open as to what side does she consider the “right” side. It was also interesting that the Blue Fairy mentioned that Rumple’s powers did not belong here – then where do they belong? Or where did they originally come from, another realm? Also interesting was her comment about the other magic beans. She said “the others got away from us.” Did someone take them and jump to another realm? Did the beans get up and run away 😆 ?

She was careful in her word selection. She did seem to be somewhat evasive in answering whether she was on the side of good.
