Drizella is awake! And apparently pulling a number of strings behind the scenes. Were you surprised? What is Drizella’s goal and ultimate motivation? Did she cast the curse? What is her relationship with the Woman in the Tower?

She’s putting on a great show for everyone. I think she cast the curse, but I also think it’s different than the original dark curse and the she didn’t need to kill the thing she loved the most. Unless, Anastasia is connected to that in some way. Do we know how long Anastasia’s been ‘dead’? Maybe her death has something to do with the curse and it’s always been in Ivy’s long game.
Also, did Ivy make Victoria think she cast the curse or maybe struck a deal with her to keep her memories, like Rumple did when Fiona cast the dark curse? I don’t know why Ivy didn’t make her a kinder mother if she, in fact, cast the curse, unless she likes the way Victoria treats her.

I have no idea what her motivation is, but knowing the writers it is likely a simple one…something to do with wanting to be loved, but I am not sure by whom, seeing as cursed!? Tremaine has been pretty abusive towards ”Ivy”, too. She might want to win her mother’s approval by being smarter than her, maybe. The other option is of course revenge on her mother for being abusive and favoring Anastasia, wanting her mother to go round and round in circles trying to control everyone and taking everything they have but losing the battle each time, with resurrecting Antastasia her favourite daughter as her motivation. However, Ivy getting between Henry and Jacinda would ruin that plan.
Basically, I have no idea lol
Just realized something: ivy, the plant, likes to climb up tall things as it grows (as well as some varieties being poisonous), and this could include towers in this show.

November 4, 2017 at 8:39 am #344139AKAParticipantI think that since OUAT likes to parallel season 1 Victoria cast the curse but Ivy manipulated her into doing it. She obviously wants to break the curse now also or why would she put the picture of Regina and Henry there to be found. I can see no other reason for her to do that. I don’t know what her motivation is, but I am hoping it is more than just revenge on her mother for being abusive and not favoring her. The other confusion is the lady in the tower is apparently working with Ivy to manipulate Victoria, so what is the witch’s motivation? I thought at first she wanted to bring Anastasia back from the dead like Victoria, but now not so sure. I would think that if Ivy’s motivation is revenge on mom she would try and keep Anastasia dead.

My original theory hadn’t involved Victoria being awake too though, which she clearly is. She doesn’t appear to be aware that Drizella is awake though. So I guess that Drizella, with BadWig’s help, manipulated Victoria into casting the Curse because reasons. Victoria believes that she’s the one in control, but Drizella is the actual big bad, out to teach her mother a lesson about which one of them is actually more powerful.

I’m actually questioning whether or not she is awake. What if Ivy only made her mom *think* she’s awake? So, Victoria has knowledge of who really is (Lady Tremaine) and thinks she’s working under the guise of being the only woke person in HH, but in reality she’s as cursed as everyone else but this is Drizella’s special brand of curse: for her mom to only have the illusion of power?

I think Drizella’s ultimate goal has something to do with getting the better of her mother. She wants to be the puppet master of her mother while letting Victoria believe that Ivy is the puppet.

November 6, 2017 at 12:27 pm #344220hjbauParticipantBut why? Why wouldn’t Drizella just want to order her mother around instead of being in control without her mother knowing? How is that even real control when her mother talks to her like that? I think it is like that just for this reveal, but the way they have her talking about it doesn’t really make a lot of sense.

Ivy probably wants her mother to think Victoria is in change up until a big reveal moment when Drizella finally gets the better of her mother. Drizella may also wish to thwart the resurrection of Anastasia to be her mother’s favorite. She seems motivated by her insecurity and secret wish to be loved and approved of by ther mother, according to A&E. From the Nov. 3 EW article: Once Upon a Time bosses on those two big curse reveals
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Drizella is actually awake from the curse! What can you tease of her motives?
EDWARD KITSIS: I would say that when you are the unloved child and you are looking for your mother’s approval — Ivy wants to show her mom that she’s just as capable, if not more so, than her, and we’ll be seeing that coming up."That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. November 6, 2017 at 12:33 pm #344222RumplesGirlKeymasterI think Ivy just enjoys the knowledge that Victoria is running around town, plotting and planning and thinking she’s a Big Bad, when really Ivy knows everything and is secretly running the show and upending her plans. It does suck for Ivy that Victoria still talks to her like that, but I’m not sure if Ivy realized that would be a side effect of casting the curse and putting these sorts of stipulations into place. It’s sorta the price she pays, I guess.
