Also the 4 elements Zelena needed for the time travel spell were what the 4 witches represented.

I think the prophecy does refer to Dorothy. Technically she fulfilled all aspects of it. She stayed in Oz until she “unseated” Zelena – the prophecy never said that the “greatest evil” was killed. And then she went home to Kansas after fulfilling her destiny.
However, I think the prophecy could have been interpreted in another way. Zelena, by fighting her dark side and winning, could have been the sorceress who fulfils her destiny by defeating the “greatest evil” i.e. her own darkness. Unfortunately, she chose to believe that the prophecy controlled who she is instead of trying to create her own destiny. That was ultimately what lead to her downfall.

They’ve already started characterising her as being more witchy, even with the “ANDWICH” part of a “SANDWICH” sign glowing right over the top of her head. So maybe she’ll end up inheriting that 4th pendant in the finale. I guess maybe the product of TL would be more suited to the heart seat, but it could maybe make her a fit for innocence too, because her magic is so pure.
It occurred to me after a second watching but Dorothy DID meet her 3 traditional companions. Each of the witches represented something: heart, courage, and knowledge. Those were the Tin Man, Lion, and Scarecrow. They just also happened to be the 3 witches.
*cocks head* Huh, so she did.

It seems almost as if the other witches were setting Zelena up.
It could have been the other way around, too: Zelena, wanting to believe the other witches, testing them just to make sure.

I think Emma wouldn’t accept that particular pendant, and apart from the “Neat!” reaction that we’d all have if we found that we could zap stuff, Emma doesn’t seem to want to be a magic user. But her magic has to go somewhere, so I’m guessing it’s what forms the book.

The actress playing her did a fine job and she actually seemed more concerned over Zelena’s “melting” than Glinda ever did.
I don’t understand Glinda at all. When she first meets Zelena, she gives her the thumbs up for turning the wizard into a monkey, but after Zelena melts (and Glinda just shrugs it off) she is the first to head over to the wizard’s place and be all buddy-buddy with the disembodied voice behind the curtain. (Not to mention expose innocent young girls to his “trickery”).

And that’s a really nice theory!

I thought the writing for Glinda was really wonky. She kept changing her mind and going back and forth. Even after she tells Zelena she’ll never stop trying to prevent Zelena from undoing the past, she changes her mind once Zelena threatens to send her to the EF. “It’s not too late!”

May 6, 2014 at 9:22 am #266763RumplesGirlKeymasterYeah I agree with @Phee.
She comes across as really shady and sneaky but I think this is a case of lackluster writing.
