This is one of the reasons why I DON’T want Bae to be Peter Pan. His character would no longer be unique if he turns out to really be one of the most iconic storybook characters of all time.
That’s actually a really good point and one I hadn’t considered. It would change the nature of Bae pretty dramatically. Suddenly there are expectations about what he’s supposed to be doing. And if Tamara really is Tink or Tiger Lily, people might argue that he should be with one of the them since it's the more normal approach to his story You’ve given me something to think about going forward with NealFire.
Per Lost: Totally understand and he had his moments, it was set up in the beginning etc. I just felt like by the end he whined a bit too much and I actually preferred him with Juliet! I felt like that way the couples would understand each other and felt a bit cheated in the finale when they had had their “chance” but it didn't work in purgatory whereas Skater never really got a legit chance – didn't even get a clip showing they landed safely!! If you asked me in the pilot who I'd rather be with: the guy who made me sew him up or the guy who protected a group of us from a polar bear, I'd have said polar bear. Sawyer had a sweet endearing quality over the course of things and was more of a snooze-fest when with Juliet. As a Kate myself (though not a brunette and no freckles to speak of), the only positive thing I loved about Suliet (other than their reunion where I actually finally liked them though not as much, was hearing Sawyer say “You got it Blondie” (a name I usually hate!)
At least we can agree on RumBelle and politely disagree on other stuff without being irrational and throwing a fit! Such a pleasant relief around here. 🙂
One of the things I found interesting about Neal being Bae is that he stayed so…sweet-natured after everything he’s been through. It almost seemed a little odd so the NealFire Pan thing might actually explain some of that / maybe show a different side to him, at least when he was younger maybe. Though I agree it might also bring about a few expectations as well.
If it turns out he is NealFire Pan it would parallel the whole Aurora thing though – daughter of the first Aurora who was originally the sleeping beauty attacked by Maleficent vs the son of the crocodile being Hook’s (presumed) enemy instead of the crocodile himself (at least within the Neverland boundaries, clearly it eventually goes back to Rumple).
As to the Tink thing: usually she loves Peter but he doesn't choose her. Tiger Lily would be far more questionable, as would anybody with the last name of Darling. Still hoping for a Morraine relative if that's the case though.

We don’t know Tamara’s last name yet to we? I’d like it to be “Pond” or something cause I want her to be Tiger Lily instead of Tinkerbell. And according to some spoilers, we’re getting a Wendy in 2×21! I went back and watched The Return to day. I never even caught the maybe connection to a Moria. I would love that.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"March 10, 2013 at 1:23 am #178605MysteryKat25ParticipantWell if he is NealFire Pan I’d realllly prefer he end up with a relation of Wendy if not Wendy herself. Emma is her own new character and nobody else, they’ve said that before so she wouldn’t fit in this case. But it all depends on how they want to go with things.
I know they want to address the past and figure out what to do now but for me, at this point, the best thing is to be in Henry’s life and make peace with the past. Whether that means there’s romance in the future we just don’t know yet. A lot can happen in 11 years, and even if all of that comes back the moment you see someone again you still have to get to know who each other is NOW, not who they were (and they both seem to be very different). I could see them realizing they’re not the way they used to be and reminiscing over puppy love as much as I can see an endgame pairing. There are MANY possibilities and as long as Neal doesn’t turn and run like Rumple did (which I doubt he will) I think everything (including Henry) will be ok.
As to the Morraine thing, once we got confirmation that Bae has spent time in Neverland (which he practically admitted last week), it reminded me that the girl we saw twice (I think?) and seemed to know a lot about the BF, was good friends with Bae etc…has never been seen again. It just seems weird that we actually got a name for her and that was the only connection I could make. Perhaps it was just there so that Bae could scream her name and run to Papa to save her. Who knows. Usually names mean something and the closest I could get (and didn’t even think of til the Peter Pan theory came into play) was that it reminded me of Moira.

I don’t see any connection that suggests Tamara is Tiger Lily. Also, why would they intentionally cast an African American for the role if they could more appropriately cast someone of Native American descent? I honestly think they might actually ignore the Indians in Never Land altogether, as their depiction in the original story and the Disney adaptation have come under fire for being seen as politically incorrect these days. In fact, both “Hook” and “Return to Never Land” noticeably have them missing. Still thinking Tamara really is just an average person not connected to FTL or any other fictional based realm. Is it really hard to believe that Neal legitimately met someone new and got into a relationship during the past 11 years since leaving Emma? Her role doesn’t have to be that much more complicated than causing a love triangle.
March 10, 2013 at 1:37 am #178614RumplesGirlKeymasterGood point. They might focus on the Mermaids instead and do Ariel. Personally, I want Tamara to NOT be a FTL(or Neveland) character. The problem I have with her being Tink is I wanna know where she was for all the time before Manhattan, especially in Tallahassee. I know some people think she might be HER. That would be interesting.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"March 10, 2013 at 1:53 am #178618MysteryKat25ParticipantI’d be ok with her being a normal person as well. Sadly given Bae’s track record of thinking he fell for a non-FTL person is not very good.

Yup. Despite his best efforts the poor boy couldn’t escape the magical and fantastical.

My main desire is actually for a less predictable path when we haven’t had to rule that out yet. Anything that is shown to us I’ll gladly take into consideration and revise my thinking on in the future. Here’s hoping I don’t resent endgame *curse you Lost* (in other words, whoever ends up with whoever – for any pairing on the show – better earn it. The show needs to MAKE me see it and GIVE ME REASONS it makes sense. I can play Devil’s Advocate all day, just give me something to work with definitive and don’t rule anything out until then – that’s my motto. All’s fair game until it isn’t.)
I like your motto, and your post, (even though I do hope SwanFire are endgame). Sometimes it’s better to be long-winded to make sure your point of view is explained properly. Every now and then, there’ll be a theory for this show that I get absolutely convinced of, but I know that even if it makes complete sense in my own head, I can’t do a victory dance unless and until we actually see it, and I’m always open to what K&H want to have their characters do.
Also agree that any endgame pairings have to earn it and have it be believable. That’s one of the reasons I love Rumbelle, because it’s not coming easy for them, even though we’ve known they’re endgame since the moment her kiss began to break his curse.

Allegedly they were originally looking for someone with a Brit accent for the role of Tamara. It wasn’t mentioned in the casting call we saw, but an article somewhere suggested it. IF that’s true, then I think it could likely point towards Tamara being Wendy, given that the Darlings were Brits, and maybe they ultimately decided that her having that accent would be too much of a hint at Nealfire being Pan. So perhaps, along with her changing her name when she got back to our world, she also adopted a new accent.
I’d been riding the Tinkmara train, but that was based partially on Mother Superior having had her memories and sending her to find Bae, but with them saying that Blue didn’t keep her memories, I’m having to re-evaluate a bunch of stuff, including Tinkmara. I prefer Wendy as an option for her over Tiger Lily, just because Tiger Lily was a specific race, different to Tamara.
In some respects, Tamara being Wendy would fit perfectly, because she’d be someone not originally from Neverland who NealFirePan would have something in common with, and she’d understand what he’d been through in his life. That would create a close bond. But the glitch in the theory is…if they’re Peter Pan and Wendy, why was she not around in the SwanThief days? If he knew Wendy in our world, why was he all lost and alone when he met Emma?
March 10, 2013 at 5:19 am #178644MysteryKat25ParticipantThank you Phee! (And it’s perfectly acceptable to disagree as long as we aren’t disagreeable about it) 🙂
I completely understand what you mean about the happy dance. I was thrilled when NealFire implied he had been to Neverland…and then I noticed the wording. *Cringes* He said “This wasn’t my first stop”….everybody has been complaining about the fact that he was supposed to come here first (we really need to see where he ended up and how / why? Maybe the bean portal lost it’s direction once Rumple let go since it was intended for him?) and I spent weeks / months defending that Peter was in our world for a time and still managed to go to Neverland and back from there and probably just got stuck in our world when the curse struck and then aged. So of course NealFire has to basically say he went straight there. *Smacks forehead*
Interesting. I vaguely recalled something about a British accent but wasn’t sure who it definitely connected to. The only issue I have with anything relating to her being a FTL or involved in it and Neal knowing…is that he wasn’t happy to learn that Emma was part of that world. He basically said once he knew that he was done, he didn’t want to go where his father was, but he wanted Emma to find her home / family. He knew that’s what she always wanted and knew that she was the Savior and was needed elsewhere. He clearly wasn’t thrilled about her connection to the life he’s been avoiding for centuries so I would be very surprised if he knew about whoever Tamara is. It would make more sense if it was Wendy as she wouldn’t have come from there originally but would know some things. The biggest question is the time gap. Wendy could have gone to Neverland whenever and spent time there with him, not an issue, but…
…why didn’t he bring her back with him? Or if he did, why did they separate? Was this before the Emma thing? (Presumably so). And how long have they been together this time? Sooo many questions if she is a FTL character but I’d like to think she’s something more than just a random plot device to keep them apart. Even Abigail’s story was alluding to a rare fairy tale (Catherine & Frederick) rather than just having Kathryn be a plot device to keep Snowing apart. So I’d reallly like to think there’s more to Tamara than meets the eye. Otherwise the triangle would still be in place for Neal Emma Hook…now it’s a square throwing Tamara in there. Not only does Emma have her choice of men, she now has her choice of triangles! *smacks forehead again*

The Blue Fairy still could have sent Tinkmara to Bae right before the curse. We still don’t know what those final preparations before the curse hit were. What if Blue sent Tink to get Bae, get him out of Neverland and into our world and to watch over him. At the same time, Blue told Tink that she suspects that Gepetto sent August through the wardrobe. Once in the real world, Tink and Bae have some sort of falling out and that’s why she’s not around for the events of Tallahassee, but maybe she’s keeping a close eye on him and knows who Emma is. She (somehow) finds August and tells him everything. So, we’ve been blaming August this whole time for the downfall of SwanFire but what if it was Tinkmara, who was only doing what the Blue Fairy told her to do.
See what I did there? I brought it all back to my favorite theory: Sneaky Fairy is Sneaky.
