I just thought of another possibility. The evil queen might order The Huntsman to release his wolf under her command. Or maybe order him to accompany the wolf to terrorize some random village. The Huntsman would have no idea why he’s ordered to watch his wolf terrorize a village, but the evil queen will have some wicked plot in mind.

Is The Huntsman (the actor) in that episode? If not, then there goes my idea.

I searched but didn’t find the name (Jamie Dornan) in the episode. Anyway, for some reason (ok, given the overall trend this past years, I guess) I think it will be a werewolf … I mean, if it played out that Dr. Whale is the big bad wolf, then he would need to transform … I doubt it would have just been the curse.
I just hope (if there is a werewolf) they don't make him be Red's love interest. That would be sooo clichéed and uninspired. :3

Werewolves are a possibility, though so are talking wolves that don’t shape-shift in FTL.

I agree mia, that the werewolf being a love interest wouldn’t be the most original. Sadly, it seems like Ruby, being boy-crazy, might be silly enough to fall for someone like Dr. Whale in SB (Snow White had a one-night stand with him after all).If that's the case, and Dr. Whale really is the Big Bad Wold, then it seems like Red Riding Hood and the wolf have some sort of dangerous liaison in FTL.

It certainly is coming across as if Dr. Whale is the Wolf, isn’t it? I guess we won’t know until it actually happens. I can see him being the Wolf if that’s how it pans out. I’ve had so many guesses as to who the Wolf is this season it’s not even funny. First the Huntsman, then August, and Dr. Whale is kind of the last person I can think of right now. Maybe it’ll be a big surprise!

Has anyone else seen The 10th Kingdom? I imagine OUAT doing the issue of the Wolf like how The 10th Kingdom did it with a guy who had wolfish tendencies, but he never actually morphed into a wolf.

That is what i think too. That the wolf would be a guy with wolfish tendencies, but not an actual wolf. I wonder now though if something is actually attacking Red’s town i don’t know.
