Does make it sound like it’s probably David. Considering he was comatose when they arrived in SB and Regina intended him to always stay that way, I’d believe that he was never assigned an alternate name.
Was just doing some poking around on wikipedia, on the page for Ruth, (from the Bible). She’s the great grandmother of King David, and both of them are related to Jesus. Kinda fitting names for family members of Emma the Saviour. If Charming’s name doesn’t turn out to be David, I’m putting my money on it being Joseph. Dunno if they’d parallel the Bible that closely, having the father of the Saviour being named Joseph, but James and Joseph does sound like a nice pair of names for twins, so I’m throwing the idea out there as a possibility.
I think they can put it closely like that. Her mother’s fake name is Mary, her father’s real name is Joseph. A lot of other “savior” type of shows/movies go a lot closer with having the savior’s initials be JC.
That’s true! For some reason it had never clicked for me before that MM’s name was fittingly Mary, mother of the Saviour. I’m not thinking of her as MM at all any more, she’s pure Snow now. Anyway, considering they have already gone there with Mary, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if David was really Joseph.

Mary and Joseph? just to make sure I’m not mistaken, are you referring to THE mary and joseph? mommy and daddy of baby jesus? I hope that’s not the case, I would die a little inside if charming’s name was joseph.
Well I don’t think they’re meant to be THE Mary and Joseph, because Emma isn’t THE Jesus, (that’d be a tad sacreligious). But Emma IS referred to as “The Saviour”, and they’ve called her mother Mary, so following that line of thinking, they might draw inspiration for her father’s name from the same place. Charming’s mother’s name was Ruth, who was a biblical figure, as was David, and James, so why not throw the name Joseph into the mix too.
