I was rewatching Desperate Souls today and when the old dark one was talking to Rumpel about taking the knife and killing the dark one so that Rumpel could gain power and save the children. The guy said something like “why do you think someone as powerful as the dark one would work for a useless fool like the Duke of the Frontlands?

That was just a weird phrase to me. Is there a land called the Frontlands? Is that just the front of the battle area or is it outside of the Enchanted Forest? I just thought it was an interesting phrase. I think they need to do a bit more about the kingdoms. I know they don’t want to box themselves in by saying how many kingdoms there are and i agree they shouldn’t do that, but maybe just explain a bit more about the kingdoms. Like did Thomas, Cinderella’s prince, have a kingdom or was he just part of Charming’s kingdom. Snow’s father had a kingdom, but the Queen still seems to have control of Snow’s father’s castle at the time of the curse, whereas Charming seems to have control of his father’s castle at the time of the curse. Rumpel has a castle. Belle’s father seems to be the ruler of a town so he could just be part of someone elses kingdom most likely the Queen’s since she is able to get there so quickly in her carriage.

And it may just be city states so all the kingdoms may just be very close to each other.
