Congrats to all who correctly guessed that the Black Fairy made the Dark Curse that started all of this!
–Why did the Black Fairy make it? Was it only to escape her realm?
–Why couldn’t she use it? Does she really love nothing and no one?
–How did she get the Dark Curse to the Chernabog’s cave?
–How long has she been planning the Dark Curse?
–How does she know about Emma or Savior’s in general?
–How did she get the dust to Snow White all those years ago?

How did Gideon leave the realm with Emma still alive? Why is Emma’s life tied to the Black Fairy’s imprisonment at all? She was locked up long before Emma was born! And why can this sword cut through the fabric of realms? It’s just a sword! It’s not Excalibur; it’s not special?

The purpose of the black curse is to go to a realm without magic. The question is why did the black fairy want to go to a land without magic. She must have made the curse before Bae jumped through the portal because the Blue Fairy knew about the curse. Maybe the Black Fairy has some seer capabilities so she could see into the future?
Why couldn’t she use it? Does she really love nothing and no one?
Well she obviously does not love her own son or at least not that we have seen. If you are unable to love your own kids I doubt you could love anything else
How did she get the Dark Curse to the Chernabog’s cave
I think the blue fairy somehow obtained the dark curse and put it with Chernabog’s cave thinking it would be safe (sounds like the blue fairy being totally useless)
How long has she been planning the Dark Curse
Well before Bae went through the portal so over 200 years or so
How does she know about Emma or Savior’s in general
Again I think maybe she can see into the future so maybe Emma is her finale battle, if she defeats the savior she wins and the savior dies and if Emma wins the Black fairy dies?
How did she get the dust to Snow White all those years ago?
Well if she is like Rumple and wanted all of this to happen she was able to somehow arrange Snow to have the dust so that she could save David and put the savior in place to defeat.

But it’s not just a sword. It was already established that Blue created it, and it does have special powers.

Oh right. It was Beowulf’s, right? Totally forgot that. Still, the powers were iffy. It was said to create the appearance of heroism? It’s just convenient that it is also a sword that can rip through fabrics of reality?

She can leave for brief periods, apparently.
How did Gideon leave the realm with Emma still alive?
Well the only person who is banished is Black Fairy. Ifs he can leave/open portals for brief periods, I’m sure she just pushed him through one. If she tried to leave for a long period, she probably just poof back after awhile, but Gideon isn’t bound by any magic to remain there forever as far as we know.
I don’t get how killing Emma unlocks a realm.
I’m assuming its extremely powerful magic that binds her to the realm, magic more powerful than any she has. Since Emma is the savior/true love incarnate, her magic can undo all curses and all that jazz, so if she can channel Emma’s magic she can set herself free. That ofcourse makes me wonder if Emma can just open portals to wherever she wants and she set her mind to it. Merlin could do it afterall. Don’t see why Emma cant.

How about if the Black Fairy wants to die? She’s at least several hundred years old according to clocks in the EF and our realm. Time in her realm runs so much faster, though, that from her point of view she’s millions of years old. A long and healthy life is good, but imagine being cursed with eternal youth.

Thinking out loud here.
It was said that the sword ensures that whoever carries it is seen as a hero, possibly meaning they get credit for the heroic deeds of others. In essence, it absorbs the heroism around it, and channels it to its bearer. (Abstractly.)
So, Gideon managed to make it do that more literally: it absorbed the greatest hero power there is (savior-ness), and channeled it for Gideon to use?

I know the writers probably won’t go with Black is Blue, but it might make sense as to how she knew about Emma as the Savior in Storybrooke. But then why would she need to control Gideon’s heart to open the portal to get to Storybrooke? Unless that was all an act? It’s just weird that Blue created the sword that supposedly opened the portal, banished the Black Fairy long ago, and just has these weird connections to her. It’s all so strange, I don’t know how to make sense of it.

I wonder if that was the purpose of the sword, then, when it was made by Blue: it’s been killing heroes and making others appear to be heroic since day one. Sneaky Fairy is still Sneaky Fairy.

Yes.
