Creators Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz previously teased to E! News that the season five finale will “see the arrival of someone new and the return of someone old as our heroes’ faith in each other and in magic itself is put to the ultimate test.” Who’s the familiar face returning? Morrison’s not telling, but she does admit it’s someone we’d never have expected.

Pretty sure it’s the Dragon from “Selfless, Brave, and True” who’s returning (according to the promo for 5×22).

I’m beginning to wonder if this returning character might be a surprise. One who might appear in the end of the finale without being revealed in the press release. Just like they did with Elsa in the finale of season 3.

There are many options of who the returning character might be. Someone said that maybe Owen/Greg Mendell is the surprise character.

I have many options in mind as do some people.

Maybe it’s Merida, the Dragon, or it could be Pan. I mean disposing him looked too easy when I thought about it. Here’s a thought. Since we saw Killian appear alive in Storybrooke, I had a weird scary thought what if it not him but an imposter returning from the dead.

It could be Pan possibly. I did alot of thinking of how his disposal to the river of lost souls looked too easy. Rumple just mentioned something about his father’s shadow watching. Maybe his shadow appears and warned his master. Pan seemed to clever to fall for this (not counting when he didn’t know Rumple ripped his shadow and hid his shadow). This could be like how Zelena impersonated Maid Marion after she killed her. He might reveal that Killian had moved on already and he has been impersonating him before Arthur showed up.

I mean yes we were told that the Dragon will return, but he was just announced in the press release. And I got a feeling that this returning character will only be revealed by the very end, like they did with Elsa.

It may not be true, but it’s just a thought.

Based off tonight’s 5×20, we can go ahead and take Pan off the list

Actually that would make him unexpected!

Jiminy’s got a point there. His disposal looked too easy.
