Ali M.: I’ll take anything you’ve got on the OUAT finale!
Anything? How about what will be a trending topic during the epic two-hour event? “#Ogreslayer!” co-creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis predict. And make sure to check back with us a little later in the week for some more finale scoop from Adam and Eddy![adrotate group="5"]May 5, 2015 at 2:18 pm #303869PanTheManParticipantWhile I’m happy to finally be seeing Rumple slay some ogres, I would’ve much rather seen Dark One Rumple end the ogre wars and save the children. I’ve wanted to see that story since season 1.
Maybe they’ve been saving that story for this.
Either way, it’s pretty perfect for the theme of Heroes and Villains. Even Dark One Rumple was a hero the day he ended the ogre wars.
May 5, 2015 at 3:03 pm #303874SlurpeezParticipantHmm. If Sir Rumple is now an ogre-slayer, I wonder if we’ll see Rumple save young Baelfire. After all, the list of guest stars is TBA. It’s possible Dylan Schmid could make a guest appearance. (And yes, I know RG has her doubts).

I am with you here, Slurp. Plus I’d love to see RG’s face if it turns out to be true 😛
well maybe not “see” RG’s face. I mean, I’ve never seen RG’s face. Except for that one time… ya know what, this is weird, let me rephrase: “I would love to see RG’s reaction if it turns out to be true” :3 okay, less weird now.
Anyway, I think if they don’t actually show Bae, young or old, they will atleast have Rump say some bullshark reason as to why he is not apart of his happy ending. I predict the following:
– “My wife Belle and I both lost someone to the tyranny of the ogres. She lost her mother, and I my son. So I decided that I would go out and fight those dark creatures in honor of them both.”
– “My son would not have agreed with the way I have achieved my happy ending and so because of that, I decided I could not include him here, knowing it is all a lie. I could not face him every day knowing the darkness I acheieved to get here.”
– “Son? What son?” (as in maybe Bae doesn’t even exist anymore in this AU. GOSH I WOULD THROW LITTE BABY PUPPIES AT THE SCREEN -__-)

I could see them taking this route, if it turns out that the Author doesn’t have the power to bring currently dead people back in this AU. If he can’t have his son back, Rumple might request to not remember his son at all, since recalling his death might be too painful to include in this AU. It’s very extreme, but this is Rumple we’re talking about. After all, he didn’t want Neal’s belongings because they reminded him of his failure. Plus, during that Hot Seat a few months ago, Adam and Eddy were rather blunt by outright saying “his plan for a happy ending does not involve Baelfire, because Baelfire is no longer with us.” I get the impression if they were planning to bring back Young Baelfire for this AU, they would have been more cryptic in their response. Part of me wouldn’t be surprised if they actually do manage to bring back Young Baelfire here, but I still have my doubts.

If they had said we’d see Bae again, certain fans would be in the comment section going crazy. I think if they were planning on bringing him back, they wouldn’t say anything at all. Or lie.

During the Neverland arc would’ve been the perfect time to show Rumple stopping the ogre war because a) It would contrast Rumple feeling like a coward in Neverland with the day he was a hero and stopped the ogre war, and b) I’m convinced some of the older lost boys actually fought in that ogre war.
All magic comes with a price!
Keeper of FelixMay 5, 2015 at 8:38 pm #303912RumplesGirlKeymasterUm. Leave me out of it.
And as regards the spoiler: I think it’s Rumple but Bae won’t factor into this because Milah doesn’t factor into his happy ending at all. For him, it’s all about Belle. So he’s just an Ogre killer because he’s a knight

Sorry RG, that wasn’t my intention.

ya know, I just thought about something. If Rumpel defeated the ogres, surely he has to have his magic, right? And if he has magic, I’m sure he has his immortality (like he’d give that up. Ha!) because there is no way you could battle ogres as a mortal man. Anyway, a lot of us have said this before, but what if Rump has become…The Light One. In the real timeline, he was a dark cursed imp thing, that was feared by all, and he defeated the ogres. Now he may be some heroic knight who uses his powers for good. Maybe he even still makes deal with the community but without all the shadiness. I mean, there is no way Rump is going to give up his magic and im not sure whether he’d ask the Author to have him not be the Dark One anymore. Hmm…idk, something to think about. Theres a lot of factors into that.

Rumple: My boy, remember when you were small, there was a night, during the ogre’s war. There was a terrible noise, horses hooves, thundering down a dusty path. You crawled into my bed. And I can still hear your little voice, ‘Papa, I’m afraid.’ And I guess by instinct I just said, ‘Don’t you worry, son. Everything going to be fine.’ And you smiled at me. You know that was the happiest moment of my life, because for the first time ever, I felt like a man, that I could truly look after you, alone.
Why do I bring up that scene now? Because I think that speech he made at Baelfrie’s graveside is part of what is motivating Rumple now. Yes, Rumple is choosing the cowardly way of self-preservation, once again, but I think deep down Rumple wants to be worthy of his son’s sacrifice. Rumple wants to be the hero. He said that the happiest moment of his life was when he told his son not to worry, and that it was the first time in his life he ever felt like a man. So, I still think deep down Rumple’s happy ending somehow includes him saving young Baelfire from an ogre. I don’t know if that’s possible, given that Baelfire is dead, or whether the author has the power to do so, but that scene seemed to give an insight into Rumple wanting to be brave, strong, and worthy of his son’s sacrifice. Yeah, I have my doubts we’ll see even young Baelfire again, based on what A&E said, but for goodness sake, Baelfire not being his father’s happy ending makes absolutely no sense to me.
