Participant“fatherdowling: Who is August on Once Upon a Time?!
We’d tell you we don’t know, but our noses would be growing! In the next episode, all will be revealed and you will see why August has a very special connection with Emma, and why he’s in trouble now. Hint: He’s got wood. And, you know, not the dirty kind. August will spend some quality time with Emma trying to convince her of the curse. Wake up, girl! Wake up!”http://www.eonline.com/news/watch_with_kristin/spoiler_chat_daily_klaus_elijah_reunion/310327
I guess he is Pinocchio.

ParticipantNow I wanna know who he was talking on the phone with in the new sneak peek; my money’s on it either being Bae or Jefferson

That’s exactly what I’m thinking too. The show cut out a scene between August and Jefferson in “Hat Trick.” Something tells me it was VERY important.

You think maybe that scene gave away too much too soon?

Exactly. I actually had a theory that maybe Bae grew up to be the Mad Hatter, but everyone shot down that theory. ๐ But I can’t shake the idea that it might be true.

Well I’ve seen a lot of people with Oz related theories that’s really no more out there than that ๐

Pinocchio!
He’s got wood. And, you know, not the dirty kind.
Yep, ever since the “shin splints” scene, I’ve thought he was turning into a wooden puppet. This week’s sneak peek of August confirms it for me.

ParticipantIf ABC hadn’t been actively trying to spoil August’s identity months in advance, I’d be happy that he was Pinocchio. But the show kept releasing spoilers, behind the scenes photos, episode discriptions and doing ridiculously spoilery interviews for months now. All they’ve yet to do is shout it from the rooftops. I don’t like to wait all season for a character only for the producers and writers to spoil it by releasing spoilers like this one. And don’t even get me started on the release of those behind the scenes photos of Gepetto and Pinocchio. ๐
But, no matter what, I’ll still like August. He wants to help Emma and he’s been really sweet to Henry. Besides, he’s too pretty hate.
That’s right. I said it. ๐

He IS quite pretty, so it’s a perfectly valid reason to like the character. Even if you don’t like who he is or what he’s saying, you can just look into his pretty blue eyes and tune out his voice. ๐

ParticipantI find it surprising too that they seem to be rubbing that idea of August being Pinocchio into our faces. Why would they want to do that.
And what does it mean He’s got wood … not the dirty kind. Is there any figurative meaning to it. English is not my first language, so I just don’t understand it.
Everything is pointing to Pinocchio, yet something is off here.
A special connection with Emma is pretty obvious, I think. He is either a boy who found her or an orphan raised in foster homes like her. Or both. -
