George: In desperate need of OUAT scoop, especially anything on the spin they’ll be putting on The Wizard of Oz!
Pack your bags ’cause we’re hitting the yellow brick road. Sources tell us the show is actually going to Oz. Producers are in the process of figuring out what they can and can’t use, based on what comes from the books, the movie or the Broadway musical. Most of what we see will be taken from the books, like the flying monkeys!

Makes sense. The books are public domain while MGM owns the 1939 movie and Universal own the musical. Disney owns Oz the Great and Powerful, so I imagine they can pull heavily from there.

The green skin is a loophole because they are using a different color green

The same will probably be the same with the red slippers, or they could use the silver ones like in the book.

    Yay for flying monkeys!

LOL – what gave you that idea???

One thing i hope and pray for though – better CGIs than what they did for Wonderland. Wonderland hurts my eyes sometimes.

Yeah it hurts everyone’s eyes. Especially the CGI screen of doom (the one that is painfully CGI)

I think for the parent show though they tend to do a bit better. More money, more time and effort.

I would imagine this is all going to be flashbacks as well. They said we’d be in the EF and SB for the season, so any OZ venturing would be Regina or WWW past.

While i can’t wait for flashbacks, it would be a bit of a waste if it wasn’t explored more in the present too. They have to do something for season 4 right??? 🙂

Could be. I think one of the criticisms I saw a lot for the first half, though, was that we spent too much time in NL. It started to wear on people after awhile. However, new land new theme new set new feel…it could work.

I think we only received backlash because nobody was really that interested in NL! I mean…if we want to be stuck in a jungle on a wild goose chase…we could have just watched Lost. Jungles and Forests aren’t for some people, and I’m one of them. However, in one of the most iconic lands in history…heck..sign me up for a whole Season 4 in OZ because everyone loves OZ!
