The slippers MIGHT be ruby. Remember, its kinda implied Theodora will create the shoes in Oz, The Great and Powerful (she draws her power from a RUBY ring, and now that her sister has lost her magical amulet, Theodora nay use her ring to fashion her a new magical object, aka the shoes).  FLYING MONKEYS FTW!!!!!

 

And Oz doesn’t have to be CGI. I think it should be filmed in a real place… Like Germany >> Germany looks kind of muchkinland-ish >> they can dress it up and use a bit of CGI for somethings

Neal mentioned the Ruby Slippers in 303 as a portal which indicates to me that he could have gone to Oz at some point

While I like the way you think, ONCE isn’t a multimillion dollar movie so I sorta doubt they’ll leave Vancouver. But they can make the set and not have it be CGI.

Producers are in the process of figuring out what they can and can’t use, based on what comes from the books, the movie or the Broadway musical. Most of what we see will be taken from the books, like the flying monkeys!

This fits with my theory that Rumple ended up in Oz as a prisoner of the WWW! I also think that Neal and Belle might go in search of Rumple in the second part of S3 once they catch wind of him still being alive.

Fits with what A and E said about how Belle and Rumple would be in the same world for an extended period of time, working on their relationship “whatever state it might be in.”

I think Mader’s first appearance is going to be 313. 312 is the EF present day and NYC present day, getting everyone home to SB and getting Emma to remember. 313 will start the Oz/WWW arc. 314 is Rapunzel and 315 appears to be a Rumbelle/Belle episode. But if Slurpeez is right that Rumple is in Oz and Belle/Bae go after Rumple then 315 could be our first look at Oz, either outdoors or CGI/set.

Well I got tired of NL real fast so this has to be a flashback. Still surprise they are doing OZ now what will Season 4 be about?

I never read the books only saw the 1st movie with Dorothy and the green wicked witch by the way is one of my favorite show and I love the person who played the WW she was really good!!!! I hope the new one does as good as this witch was and her laugh too 🙂 The flying monkeys will end the last story in Henry’s book.

Makes sense. The books are public domain while MGM owns the 1939 movie and Universal own the musical. Disney owns Oz the Great and Powerful, so I imagine they can pull heavily from there.

Wasn’t there also a 1985 Oz movie made by Disney? I barely remember there was one with a moosehead which was attached to something and turned to life by some magical powder.
I’m not sure how that movie was called – I watched it when I was a kid – but I remember it was a Disney movie. And I can slightly remember that they used the ruby slippers in the movie.

I think you are thinking of The Return to Oz which is a Disney film.
