February 26, 2014 at 12:07 pm #248092RumplesGirl KeymasterAnd, ppl are going on the assumption that Leo and Regina were actually “together”. While we have no evidence that Leo and Regina slept together (though that would be odd because consummation of a marriage is important in royalty) it wold still mean that Leo married his former lovers daughter. It does have that ick factor. [adrotate group="5"]"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"February 26, 2014 at 12:12 pm #248099harleygirl ParticipantOh, I don’t deny the ick factor- totally agree there! Almost the same as the Emma/Hook ick factor, but, they went there, so, CoraLeo doesn’t surprise me. February 26, 2014 at 12:20 pm #248104kfchimera ParticipantPeople think things are icky at different levels too. There were some hints at things in LOST for sure. Boone and his actual step-sister that lived with him at least since teenage years have a night together, then Sayid sort of has this thing for Nadia who in the dreamworld is married to his brother. I think Jack suspected his father of having an affair with his wife too. Eyebrows raised and on alert for odd things! . “If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” -- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass February 26, 2014 at 12:37 pm #248109TheGoldenKey ParticipantI guess I’m just “unickable”. 😉 Brother’s would marry their brother’s widows all the time. Look at Henry the 8th who married Catharine, his brother Arthur’s widow. Then he messed around with both Boleyn sisters (Mary & Anne) and eventually annulled his marriage to Catharine and married Anne. Anne gave birth to Elizabeth but there has always beens suspicion that one or two of Mary’s children were also fathered by Henry. So nothing really shocks or icks me anymore. In ancient Jewish tradition, that’s known as a Levirate marriage. Also, Jacob married Leah and her sister, Rachel. Yet, that was then and this is now, unless we’re operating under the assumption that Fairy Tale land upholds ancient practices which no longer seem as palatable by modern standards. "That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. When you leave it, there’s this feeling that you can’t shake. You just miss it." Neal Cassidy February 26, 2014 at 12:41 pm #248111motormouth12 ParticipantU don’t think they’ll make any of the true love couples be related to each other. we definitely wouldn’t expect that. February 26, 2014 at 12:41 pm #248112RumplesGirl KeymasterBrother’s would marry their brother’s widows all the time. That’s true. It’s called Levirate marriage and it was pretty common way way way way way long ago. It’s written in the Torah (Deut 25:5-6) as mandatory. But for a TV show..it’s…a bit off putting for viewers "He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"February 26, 2014 at 12:51 pm #248118HappyEndings SpectatorI *really really really really* need Leo to NOT be Zelena’s father. It’s too much that he slept with Cora and then married (and probably slept) with her daughter, Regina. I agree and I think it is kind of sick in my opinion 🙁 Just us, or it’s all starting to feel weirdly incestuous!? Did they have to use the word incestuous? That could imply a lot of things Cora with Henry SR etc February 26, 2014 at 12:57 pm #248122harleygirl ParticipantYeah, off putting if it was a modern timeframe. The EF seems to be following Medieval times in other aspects, so, why not in regards to relationships. That’s why I, personally, find it a bit less “ick” than Emma and Hook, because Emma is from Modern times….well, so to speak. Because this mostly a family show we aren’t going back to the Bible days etc that were over several years old. Plus it just plain sick for now day times.
