I need some Once Upon a Time scoop! Is Storybrooke really gone?
We’re still trying to process all of the magical mayhem that happened in December’s jaw-dropping midseason finale, so to help get some answers, we caught up with everyone favorite little mermaid, JoAnna Garcia Swisher, to get some answers about what’s ahead when the series returns in March. “Storybrooke is gone,” she teased. Not to worry though, we’ll still get to see the ravenous redhead. “Ariel’s coming back, and I may have found my prince charming, but I think that you might need a little naïve mermaid to come back in town, maybe stir up some business.” Take a look at our full interview with JoAnna below to learn even more spellbinding secrets.[adrotate group="5"]"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"January 27, 2014 at 10:28 am #240922obisgirlParticipantAriel!!!!!

"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"January 27, 2014 at 10:35 am #240926obisgirlParticipantI thought she was in Neverland the whole time, and by the way, how come certain people who were in Neverland didn’t get affected by the curse? Like, Smee got pulled to Storybrooke and we know why it didn’t take Hook but Tink, Peter Pan and the Lost Boys stayed put in Neverland the whole time?

I *think* the explanation is that Smee actually went to FTL with Hook when Hook went searching for Rumple. I suspect Hook and Smee got on the JR, left NL with some help from Peter Pan and then Hook made a deal with Cora, but Smee was left outside the bubble and that’s why he got taken to SB.
Either Ariel was in NL the whole time and was taken back there or she went back to FTL with everyone but is a mermaid again?

Even if Ariel ended up back in NL after “Going Home” then she could still swim to EF. She’s a mermaid, and we learned mermaids can swim between worlds.

Doesn’t she still have that enchanted cuff Regina gave her? Because if she still has that, she would be human still unless she lost it. 🙁

Cryptic! I wonder if she means her ability to travel between worlds is going to come in handy again like it did in 3×7.

YAY! Wonder what she’ll be up to because it sounds like more than just a token appearance (like the Eriel reunion was). Back when the wedding spoiler came out, I figured if it was gonna be Eriel, they’d work them back into the story somehow before the finale, so it’s interesting that she’ll be back.
In the full interview she says she’s leaving for Vancouver in 5 days, so I guess that means she’s gonna be in 317. As if I wasn’t already impatient about getting the title for that ep.
Wonder if Blackbeard is gonna be for 317 and mermaids will be tied into his appearance somehow?

Yes, I hope Joanna’s appearance as Ariel will tie into the plot quite nicely. I still wonder if the “splashy” season finale wedding is Ariel and Eric’s wedding.

Hurray! The more I get to see of Ariel, the better!

Hmm! Interesting! Maybe. I just re-watched POTC 4 “On Stranger Tides” (in which Blackbeard actually plays a signifiant role), and Ariel really reminds me of the one mermaid, Syrena, who gave her tear after she thought the missionary she loved had died. Like Ariel, she was compassionate and not like her murderous sister mermaids.
