August fans will probably not like this but Eion Bailey has joined the cast in TNT pilot, Trooper.
No lie — Once Upon a Time‘s Pinocchio has found a new gig. Eion Bailey, who plays the fairytale character/August on the ABC series, has landed the male lead in TNT’s drama pilot Trooper, our sister site Deadline reports.
The project, from producer Jerry Bruckheimer (CSI), stars Mira Sorvino as a recently divorced state trooper who is as unconventional at work as she is at home raising her three kids. Bailey will play her partner on the job, a widowed dad with a much more by-the-book approach to policing.
What does that mean for August on Once? Well, we probably won’t see him quite as much.
[adrotate group="5"]We already knew we wouldn’t be seeing him as much since he got bumped from the main cast before season 2 started. That’s part of why I was surprised to see him playing such a vital role in “Tallahassee”. There’ll have to be some August related fallout from that in SB, so I suspect we’ll see him at least a few more times. And we need a proper Pinocchio/Geppetto reunion. As long as Eion’s new gig doesn’t prevent that from happening, it’s all good. If they’re only at the stage of shooting the pilot, it’ll be a little while before they know if the show will be picked up.
