Rogers’ missing case involves a girl named Eloise Gardener. Is this his daughter? What does that tattoo/drawing have to do with anything? Who is Eloise? How did she go missing and where is she now? Post all your crazy, sane, and half baked theories!

I strongly suspect that Eloise Gardner is the witch whom Victoria (aka Rapunzel) has locked up in her tower. As far as I can tell, she is the only missing person in the story so far…I think it is going to be the old bait-and-switch kind of reveal in which Victoria Belfry turns out to be Rapunzel, who is really a villain, while Gothel is the misunderstood anti-hero. It is a well-worn trope now on OUAT like when Peter Pan was really the villain and Hook was the anti-hero or in which King Arthur was actually a power-crazed schmuck.

I wouldn’t count out Anastasia since they deliberately covered up her face with a veil but I don’t know how that works given the timeline–how old is Rogers’ daughter supposed to be? Emma Booth’s character, the Witch in the Tower, is old enough to have some sort of history with Victoria and exude a “wise witch woman” aura. If she is Mother Gothel, and they go the Tangled route, then the Witch is quite old and is looking for a way to stay young.

Magic that’s kept a child in stasis for many years would probably come in handy for that, huh.
That’s probably what her special tea was for, some sort of stay young potion. But to be able to have that power as an inate part of her, she needs whatever magic is keeping Anastasia young.
Back when Anastasia was dying, Victoria heard about a witch with the power to remain young. So she enslaved Gothel to force her to give up her magic to save Anastasia, and has had her in shackles ever since. Gothel has teamed up with Drizella in a play to get her magic back. Drizella can empathise with Gothel, because she wants to be free of her mother’s shackles too, which is why they’re now working together.
And because that ramble had nothing to do with what this thread is actually about, I’ll say that Eloise drew a window in a tower, as though drawn from the inside looking out, which I’m taking as confirmation that Hook’s kid is Rapunzel.

That was my assumption for that as well. And, correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that–a potion-like tea full of weird ingredients–a major plot point in “Into the Woods” which features the Rapunzel/Gothel story?
I agree that Hook’s kid is probably Rapunzel; I just have no idea who that is right now. It’s not Alice, I think the events of this episode prove that (Hook’s continued obsession with Gardener doesn’t jive with having just met Alice/Tilly). Victoria had a lot of Rapunzel overtones two episodes ago but now that we know Drizella is really in charge of this little adventure, I question how conscious Victoria even is (unless Victoria is Rapunzel 1.0 and Hook’s kid is Rapunzel 2.0). Anastasia….she’s looking more promising except the timeline makes my head hurt.

Hook should be about 70 years old outside of his time in Neverland. His daughter is probably older.

The only assumption we can make is that the oldest Wish Hook’s child could be is around 30. The Wish Realm veered off course when the Evil Queen was defeated and no curse ever came. So Wish Hook met and impregnated some woman and then that daughter was stolen. I’m assuming the rum belly and aging badly came from his despair over losing his daughter to the witch after she found out he was sneaking in to visit her.I still think Anastasia is his daughter. We don’t know how long she’s been ‘dead’, but I’m assuming she was close to Drizella’s age, which would put her in her 20’s if she hadn’t ‘died’.
November 5, 2017 at 10:20 pm #344200hjbauParticipantYeah, Anastasia is certainly the easy answer. If Tremaine is Rapunzel, then her trapping Anastasia somewhere and Hook visiting her fits. I just think it being Anastasia makes it seem like random person number 3 to me.
