I predict that the final moments of the episode will be Rumple telling Lacey that he can’t be with her because he doesn’t want to choose darkness and he’d rather be good even if it means he can never be with her again. And then that changes something in her and so they decide to try and be good together.

And then someone has to give me a cookie.

RG, that a perfect way to end it if we’re going to be stuck with Lacey for awhile. I really hope he doesn’t revert to his dark side again. He’s made too much progress to backslide too much. He does have goodness in him. He just has to realize it is there.

I have to say that I think his speech to Mary Margaret about how he lives with what he’s done is more telling than anything. It was a raw, honest answer and shows he knows deep down the difference between right and wrong and that it’s a struggle for him. I just haven’t seen that yet with Regina and that’s why her redemption storyline isn’t working for me. Like an addict, Regina really hasn’t hit “rock bottom” yet. Until she does she’s going to continue to make the same mistakes.

The key is has Rumple really hit rock bottom, either? If he hasn’t hit it yet, at least I think he has it in his sights. He’s more on his path at the moment, but I also think he’ll never be truly reformed. He’s lived hundreds of years with the specter of the Dark One. Even if his personal curse is broken, I can still see it being a part of him. Not in the way it is now, but remnants will still exist in his persona. But I do see definite growth in his character. I just hope Lacey doesn’t destroy it.

I don’t think he’ll just walk off from Lacey, he still to get close to Lacey in order to bring Belle back. I think he’ll go with what attacts Lacey to him then he’ll have to make a decision about whether he wants to fight for Belle or keep this new version of her that accepts him for his darkness. It’s like Belle tells him he’s not a monster and Lacey tells him even if you are a monster that’s the way I want you. What Rumple has to see for himself is that even if he finds some kind of happiness with Lacey that it’s an illusion created by Regina. The trick Regina is pulling is not so much taking Belle away as it is putting temptation in his life with a woman who likes the darkness and looks exactly like his true love

Oh, man if that happens I will cry both tears of sadness and happiness combined. 😥

I think thats beautiful…but why does she have to remain Lacey? Is there some interview thing I missed or something, that says she will be stuck as lacey for a long time? Because I’ve heard others say that there were pictures of Belle and Rumple hugging outside his shop , (ive seen them myself), and that she was still lacey at that point. I’m confused…couldn’t that have been the real belle when they were hugging? ❓ 😉

The pics of RC and EdR hugging were probably not acting scenes because you can see a water bottle in the shop window which means they were between takes.

Oh okay…cause I get scared every time someone says she will start to love him but never turn back to Belle. 😆

Oh I think she’ll turn back but in every interview that’s come out in the past few days (most of them are in this thread) it seems like she won’t be Belle again until season finale.

He may have to act a bit dark, but that’s not the same as being dark. Gold clearly does not want to be the DO – as Eddy said, he’s spent all season searching for the light, he’s chosen goodness and love. There’s really no other way for him to attract Lacey and get close to her other than appealing to her bad boy loving side, but that doesn’t mean he’ll act like that all the time – just probably in certain situations, where he will pick and choose his spots. When he’s alone with Lacey, perhaps he might be a bit more aggressive or naughty? BY now he’s got to be desperate for any physical affection, so when Lacey offers it – he has to resist doing anything more than kissing (but how hard that will be, lol).

The poster who suggested that, at some point, Gold might tell Lacey that he loves her, but he would rather she loved him for himself and not his bad boy behavior, had a great idea; I had also thought that might happen…or at least I’d like it to.

Regardless, Lacey appears to be a good person, and I’m glad of that. This conflict Gold has within himself is simply, I think, down to the fact that he’s not sure he can be good without Belle (but he can; he has shown that – he uses her as inspiration, so he has to do that again, think of Belle). Lacey accepting him as he is is not a good thing, as it wasn’t when Cora loved his DO side. Belle wants better for him because she knows he is so capable of it – and of being truly happy
