Seriously, I’ve got that baelfire theory wedged in my brain now. If they took inspiration from a different story’s thing called baelfire and used it as a means to resurrect their Baelfire and reunite him with his TL, they’d think they were super clever and funny with the inside joke.

"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"Random musing about Emma’s choice from here on about whether to keep Henry in SB and have him remember, or take him back to NYC, blissfully unaware… Like I said in a previous post, she may be thinking that having him remember Neal would be too painful for him, so part of her wants to protect him from that… The new thought I had was that if she takes him back to NYC, she can take him to Neal’s apartment, where all his stuff is. They could look through it, Emma could tell him about the dream catcher, which could lead to her telling him happy stories of their time together. She could use NYC and Neal’s things there to help Henry build up an idea of who his dad was and have him feel close to him, without him having to suffer the pain of remembering and losing him. If I wrote fanfic, I would write that thing.
I kinda love that idea. And I think I would like for Emma to go back to NYC at least once. They up and left their lives there (is she paying rent on that apartment????). And if they go to Neal’s and look around, then that’s even better.
Aaaaaactually, the fic I’m currently writing hits that idea, at least slightly. Will let you know when it’s done (hoping to work on it today).

Emma and Henry returning to NYC to pack up Neal’s things and to talk about Emma’s good memories of Neal would be a wonderful thing. I’m pretty sure that Henry will get his memories back of his dad, and when he does, it will be bitter-sweet. Henry will remember his dad as loving him and his mom, which will be wonderful, but of course, it won’t be without regret at never having gotten to know or at least say goodbye to Neal. I hope Emma tells Henry about the portal scene in 2×21 and how Neal heroically let go in order to ensure Henry didn’t grow up alone like his parents did. *sniff*

I just want to post it and be done with it (I’ve been sitting on it since January), but I can’t figure out how to either end my thoughts, or how to separate it into two pieces. Doesn’t help that a lot of it is moot after 3B started airing, but whatever! Anyway, if there’s anyone free to bounce ideas off of, I’d really appreciate the help!
