Why did Zelena need Neal specifically to use the life for a life triangular exchange thing? I mean, beyond the needing/wanting to write MRJ out angle I’m assuming exists…why couldn’t she just manipulate some random Joe Schmo to do it? Did she just want revenge on Rumple for…IDEK what he’s supposed to have done except mock her pseudo crush on him…whatever, so she chose to bring him back by killing his son?

    Excellent question

I still wouldn’t like it AT ALL IN ANY WORLD EVER, but Neal sacrificing his life because he was literally the only who could bring Rumple back has much more narrative strength to me than what we got.

    I agree.

Narrative strength if they care to use  narrative strength, I think they were more in the mindset lets just whip something up quick to get ride of Neal and get back to our regular broadcasting.

I’m not convinced that she cared who used the Key, Neal or Belle, didn’t really matter to her just as long as one of them did.

    But why them?

Why not just some random peasant. Take his heart, make him do it.

Because she wanted to see Rumple suffer, and he wouldn’t lose a whole lot of sleep over a random peasant losing their life to bring him back.

She obviously took great pleasure in ordering Rumple to kill Belle, are we supposed to assume she really is in love with him, Fatal Attraction style?

Yeah, Phee, I don’t really think this is what they had in mind, it was an idle thought. Trying to make things count more in my head.

Hey, can somebody do me a favor? I am still catching up on the thread from vacation (missed y’all like crazy!) but I had some thoughts I wanted to write out regarding the death, hope, story-vs-network related, etc. Can someone link me the ORIGINAL spoiler article regarding the Season 3 death spoiler? Is it that TVLine one, or was there another? I keep seeing things mentioned as “A&E said” that I don’t recall reading anywhere, so I want to make sure I have the right sources before I put things together.

Also, the post-315 confirmations – the TVLine A&E interview, Adam’s Twitter, MRJ’s Twitter – were there others I am forgetting?

    Thanks 🙂

Cause this story needs some mending & a better happy ending...

DSB, hope it was a great vacation. Looking forward to your thoughts. I, too, am interested to see if I’ve seen the absolute original articles and official line. (Since according to Adam, it’s not true unless it’s direct from them, and even then there’s semantics.

Thanks, RG! Where did the gone = never gonna see again, no flashbacks, totally gone come from? Are there Adam tweets with regard to the article I should be searching for?
