KeymasterWhen Hook was teaching Henry how to cheat, that’s when I knew there’s no future for CS.
Not only cheat but that the most important thing is to win–no matter what you have to do.
Thankfully he’s only corrupting the memory-less Henry. If he ever gets his memories back, I’m sure much of what Hook has been “teaching” him will be disregarded.
I actually want to know how Henry will respond to Hook once the memory curse is lifted

ParticipantMy Voodoo magic and chants worked guys! (Some of you will understand this )
I got encouraged last night to start back on my abandoned story on fanfiction.com, A Bug’s Life. I actually had some time this morning at work before the kids came in an reread it. It’s been awhile. I might just pick up and add to it. 🙂 I’m getting the urge to write once again and this crappy development on my screen is encouraging me to turn to fanon once again.Do it Jo! DOOOOOO IIIIIIIIIT!
Also, remember to only use your magic Voodoo powers for good!

ParticipantI laughed so hard when Hook said something like : “I was there when Cora tried to rip your heart out. I saw your power” etc..
NO, Hook could not have seen that moment. Why ? Because Emma had knocked him out BEFORE Cora tried to rip her heart out ! Seriously, the writers are forgetting about their own story !

ParticipantI usually enjoy the AVClub reviews of OUaT, but this one has a tag line of: “Hook becomes the true heart of this show”. No. This is wrong and BS and all the things I can’t say on these forums because of profanity and stuff. NEAL was the heart. The heart of EVERYTHING. You and your stupid Good Ship CS5000 will never convince me otherwise. BLEH. BLEH I SAY.

ParticipantDon’t mind me while I sit in my corner laughing about how Once hit a series low in the ratings last night and went below a 2.0 for the first time all season… 😉 #karma
That’s very telling, isn’t it? I didn’t even watch last night, not out of malice, but out of sadness over what the show has been reduced to now. This show used to make me happy, but instead it did the opposite after 3×15, and based on all of your comments, I have no desire to watch. I think it’s not only fans of Swanfire or Neal who feel the show has gone downhill. I think the general audience might think similarly, as indicated by the all-time low ratings for S3. The current direction of the show is not the outcome people thought of as a happy ending for Emma and Henry.
After I watched 3×16, I’d hoped this would be a big misdirection, but after reading your comments about 3×17, even that shred of hope has fizzled. I’d been thinking that perhaps Zelena’s “second chance” AU Enchanted Forest could’ve reversed Neal’s death. Isn’t Zelena’s entire aim to be the one whom Rumple chooses to unleash the dark curse, rather than Regina? Well, Rumple’s entire motivation was to find his son, and without that driving force, Rumple wouldn’t choose anyone to cast that curse. So if Zelena really wants to be the one whom Rumple selects, then she has to bring back Baelfire so as to motivate Rumple to go through “all that trouble” to locate his son. So, perhaps A&E will cry, “shenanigans” and all, but honestly, that would ring hollow to me. Any happiness at his return would somehow seem tarnished now by how the writers decided to mishandle his death in a very cursory way. Now I’m thinking that “believe in second chances” should’ve been Hook’s S3 motto, rather than Neal’s poster motto.

After 317 I can’t muster any hope in crack about Neal coming back.
And they aren’t even going to let CS develop on its own. They are going for contrived plot and curses.

ParticipantWhile I’m annoyed that this Hook-Emma romance is being shoved down my throat, one scene from last night’s episode actually comforted me.
When Hook was teaching Henry how to cheat, that’s when I knew there’s no future for CS.
There’s a much bigger picture happening here, and I think we’re just going to have to wait to see how they conclude all this.
It’s more about Henry than Emma, and Henry deserves better.
Interesting point you raised. Maybe the writers are intentionally portraying Hook as a very conflicted individual for a reason. I haven’t watched 3×17, but I did read everyone’s comments here. Hook told Neal in 3×15 during that “touching” hospital scene that he was in Neal’s way, which sounded like a threat. Then he predicted Neal would pay a heavy price after Hook “guessed” that Neal must’ve tampered with dark magic and labeled Neal a villain. Now Hook is teaching Emma’s son to cheat?!? Something tells me that a conflicted pirate like Hook is not adverse to cheating at games or at life to get what he wants. And what Hook wants is Emma. And she seems to be inexplicably falling for it, hook, line and sinker! Maybe her grief is screwing with her head and impairing her judgement. Surely, a responsible mother would want to keep her son, who is still at such an impressionable age, away from bad influences. And I completely agree that Emma and Henry definitely deserve better that a pirate who lies, cheats, and kills. While Neal was no prince, he was, in the very least, humble, contrite, and a truly good father to Henry.

I was *very* shocked that Hook killed Blackbeard. And it wasn’t one of those “he had no choice” situations, either. Blackbeard gave him a choice: give me the ship and you can go and rescue Eric. But Hook’s honor was on the line, so he fed BB to sharks!
Neal may have tried to move on with Tamara to fill the void in his soul without Emma, but he sure as heck didn’t KILL anyone.
