ParticipantAll the credit goes to Adam and Eddy for writing such a beautiful story and characters who build off of each other in intricate ways. I just like to search for themes to piece together. Also, I found yet another exquisite SF video with new footage.

ParticipantYou also find awesome videos! Thank you for sharing.

ParticipantSomeone who’s better at figuring out the music on this show than me needs to help me with something. I’m not ashamed to say that I’ve rewatched the SwanFire reunion scene a lot since last night and I think the music playing while Emma is talking to Neal in the cage is the exact same music that played when she and Snow were bonding in the FT land nursery last season. I only remember this because that’s another scene that I’ve watched a LOT since “Lady of the Lake” originally aired and I thought the music was hauntingly beautiful during that bonding scene. That same music being played here gives me a little extra SwanFire hope today because that music was used back then to show Emma and Snow’s relationship and how the two women were starting to understand each others pasts and get to know each other as mother and daughter. Here it’s being used to show Emma & Neal’s relationship and how it’s going to change now that they’re reunited after being apart for so long and how they need to actually get to know each other again too. I don’t know if the True Love theme was part of it too but I recognized that Emma/Snow LOTL music right away. 🙂
BTW-I gotta stop reading comments in the OUAT articles because they just upset me too much now. The maturity level of some people is about 12 and I swear I feel like I’m not watching the same show as some of them. 🙁

KeymasterAnother great video!
I’m not sure about the music cues in the confession. I’ll have to rewatch both.

Participant(Just ignore this, just testing to see if it shows up because once again I posted a post that isn’t showing.)
ETA that OK, that’s showing, so I guess my previous post did get eaten, and because I spent ages trying to word it right, I don’t have the stamina to type it all again right now, so instead I’ll just say that having caught up on the last few pages of the thread, I LOVE YOU ALL!

Casper-Peeves was quiet for too long. This is his revenge.

The theme that plays in the background in the EF nursery scene from 2×3 actually IS the True Love theme! It begins at the 2:38 mark.
After a quick re-watch of the scene between Neal and Emma in 3×6, yes, the True Love theme plays as Emma tells Neal her secret starting at the 2:59 mark!
The True Love theme also played when when Henry was born, when Emma thought Henry had died, and when Emma thought Neal had died. The fact that the true love theme is being repeated again when Emma is telling Neal that she never stopped loving him and that she probably always will is a strong signal that theirs is true love.

The true love theme is actually contained in the “Tallahassee” song by Mark Isham at the 9 second mark. True love is the very essence of the SF theme. 🙂

ParticipantHere’s the Emma & Snow scene (sorry it’s mixed in with another scene…I can’t find just the nursery scene tonight) and it’s the music during Emma’s speech and then their hug afterwards that I think is the same as or at least very similar to the SwanFire reunion scene. I hope this video posts right! 🙂
I don’t really know why this is sticking in my head so much and it may have just been a coincidence (not that there are many with this show!) but I just get the feeling that this music thing for these two particular scenes was done for a reason. Both scenes are highly emotional ones for Emma where she’s realizing that the other person may not be the horrible person that she’d always thought, both are the other person having to hear something sad/tragic about Emma’s past (Snow that her daughter never had anyone put her first; Neal that Emma still loved him but was scared of facing her flood of bad emotions again), both involve emotionally high stakes (getting out of the EF; saving Henry in Neverland), and both involve wonderful enveloping hugs given by the person that Emma was talking to and not by Emma herself. Maybe that’s why this SwanFire scene hits me so hard….Emma has been so closed off for so long and to see her vulnerable and broken with first Snow in S2 and then Neal now, it just reinforces how much pain Emma has kept inside for so long and how much she really needs to heal before she can find her happy ending. *sniff sniff* 🙁
I need a cookie.

I just posted a page before when I found the nursery scene between Emma and Snow. I did a comparison and discovered that yes, the true love theme plays in 2×3 when Snow and Emma have a moment as well as in 3×6 when Emma and Neal have a moment. Well spotted!

Nothing is coincidence! Emma has true love for her parents, for her son, and for Neal. The music is a vital clue to where Emma’s heart truly is, and that is with Neal. Emma is just scared of getting hurt, just as she was scarred in 2×21 when Henry asked her to have faith and stay with him. “You’re just scared. It happens to all heroes. It’s just the low moment before you fight back.” 🙂
