Twice Upon A Time

ParticipantRanisha, thanks for sharing your thoughts, and welcome!
I agree with you that Swanfire is unique, but it does have this quality to it that takes it out of just whimsy, wish fulfillment and fancy of the common romance novel, and into something with some bite to it like those classic literary tales, but still there’s the magic that gives it the fairy tale feel to it.
I can’t help but root for these two to connect and step by step rediscover what drew them together in the first place.Ā I never really wanted the writers to rush it or sweep anything under the rug.Ā Ā A lot of us who ship it do so with the idea that this is what Emma wants, because she always knew what they had was special, the moment they met each other.Ā I think the span of time in between is enough to get the idea that Emma had the opportunity to meet other people but none came close, except maybe Graham.Ā I’m not sure about Hook either, but we’ll see as it plays out.Ā The writers didn’t make there be a connection between Neal and Hook for nothing, nor has it been completely forgotten even if heavily downplayed so far in terms of “triangle” scenes.
Speaking of something downplayed and forgotten… There’s a set picture of Pan but in the background you can see the yellow bug!

ParticipantBy the Twice, that was amazing!!! Love how you made the essay your own. I even laughed when you call Tamara the evil taser lady.Ā I also glad you agree with me about the Tamara issue. To me that is the weakest argument ever. Yeah he tried to move on beyond his love for Emma and it got him shot in the process. I don’t understand why some fans act like Tamara and Neal were some perfect happy couple? Yeah He loved her but we all know he loved Emma more. Just likeĀ we all know he wanted Emma.
Also you are right Emma’s i not some prized to be won and she shouldn’t be objectified as reward. ItĀ kind of frustrates me to see some fans declared that so and so deserves Emma or deserves to be with Emma or needs to be with Emma. No the only person who truly deserves and needs to be with Emma is her son Henry. ^_^

I’m not going to lie, I was hoping Neal would be the one next to Emma in the yellow bug. That is a SF symbol, not a CS symbol.Ā Ok I just invented my own context: Emma tells Hook about how she met Neal. She stole his stolen car.

ParticipantThe girl who tweeted that pic said she heard they were shooting that scene for 312. Dunno how reliable that info is, but that was apparently the rumour going around on set.
She said that they drove up in the Bug, with Hook in the passenger seat. One innocent car ride does not a symbol make. I commented in the chat that it would be hilarious seeing Hook, big pirate coat and all, crammed into and getting out of the little Bug. For all we know he’s saying, “This thing is so cramped, why don’t you get something bigger?” and she replies, “I stole this car from Neal, not realising he’d already stolen it and was sleeping in the back seat. It’s how we met.” And suddenly what looks like a CS scene in a still photo is actually a SF moment. š Basically, the context of it could be anything.
PS. Welcome new posters! Always great to have more people to share the SF love with. š

ParticipantI just hope that Emma and Hook aren’t out on a date. Her driving him around at night could mean a million things, but the idea of a date crossed my mind. But hopefully, even if they are on a date, what seems like a CS moment inevitably leads to a SF moment as you suggested. Emma mentioning how she came by the yellow car in the first place, and the white elephant in the room, Neal, gets mentioned. Hook and Emma actually finally getting to go on a proper date might help show that Neal is never far from their minds.

ParticipantBTW, the girl who tweeted that pic, she’s actually a SF shipper herself. So I doubt she’d have sent tweets saying, “Because im so happy, im just gonna say that there’s a #CaptainSwan scene filmed today.” And “I’m in a very GOOD mood today so here’s a photo for #CaptainSwan” if she’d seen anything that would make her feel pessimistic about SF.
