ParticipantPeople want to split up the thread? But… but… but… I’m mostly sane. Honest.
For anyone who has been lurking, Lunacy Junction has been a stop on the map (our perfectly sane and very reasonable map that makes complete and total sense… somewhere…) for a few weeks now. I think it was inevitable that we would get to this point before 322, but the question was when. Obviously that time is now. Seeing as how SFers have the worst ability to predict where the story is going to go (I argue that it’s because we approach it with deductive reasoning from what we’ve been given over the history of the show. It’s not our fault that the writers can’t remember their own history when they write), it only makes sense that if we come up with the mostly obscenely outlandish stories that eventually SOMETHING from ONE of them has to be at least a little close… eventually… And we have a week left of crazy predictions, so we might as well make the most of it!
All that said, I want to take a moment to thank all of you for just being so awesome. Just a general awesome, but especially after 315. I was just a lurker before then, just content to observe rather than to engage in the fandom seriously, but having people to connect to while we all figured out how to cope with our shared pain really changed things. As much as I wish 315 had never happened, without it I wouldn’t have made such friends who have accepted me as part of this tiny community of SFers, and who have embraced the insanity that I bring with me wherever I go in a way I never expected. Thank you for making NEALWHALE and #KillianJonah a thing, for practically turning the Conspiracy Train and #HopeForRogueBison into our motos, and pretty much just rolling and building on every crazy, stupid idea that I’ve thrown out, even ones that meant nothing at the time.
I don’t know how this season is going to end, and I don’t know how I will feel about Once Upon a Time this time next week, over the summer, or when season 4 starts. I may never want to watch it again. But all I know is I don’t want to lose what we’ve created here, or any of you. Even though if feels like I’ve fallen into the bottomless pit of the internet, I don’t regret it for a moment and I’m so thankful that I stopped lurking and you all let me in. So thank you. Whatever happens after Lunacy Junction, whether we go to Sad Town or to the Swanfire Bison Ranch, I hope we’ll still have each other.

ParticipantYou know some of the “how Neal will be resurrected/come back” ideas will be interesting fanfiction. If I was a better writer I would have wrote some based on those ideas -_-.

ParticipantDid someone say LOSING our minds? Yah, think they were lost long ago.
I had a headcanon to piggyback on text’s earlier one… whereby they zap back in time, screw things up, fix them, then come back to SB… everything fixed, everyone still existing. Then Em & Henry head back to NYC, to resume their normal life, thinking all is well that ends well. A few days after their return, they wake up to a now-familiar scene… 8:15 alarm, breakfast, Charley’s girl etc. A knock on the door, and this time not a pirate, but the third member of their family. Apparently, just enough was left unfixed during the trip back to alter destiny… in the best possible way. To neatly bookend the season, of course we must end with another attempt at TLK… this one successful.
I get really hung up on the need to bookend this season. Like this, it would be the best bookend ever.
So much I want to reply to in this thread, but I gotta go back like eighty-six pages to find where I last posted this morning!!
Cause this story needs some mending & a better happy ending...

EMMA SWAN IS ALLOWED TO BE MAD AT HOOK
STOP. BADMOUTHING. EMMA. SWAN.She doesn’t love Hook! … She has tried to let Hook know that as kindly as she could, and now she’s p!$$ed! He nearly got her son killed! She’s allowed to be mad at him! She’s allowed to announce to the world that cursing Hook’s lips was useless because SHE DOES NOT WANT TO KISS HIM! She said Son of a b!t%h before giving him mouth to mouth, imagine how she’s feel if she had to actually kiss him!
Stop blaming Emma for CS not happening. She doesn’t want it, and frankly I don’t blame her!
“God, why is Emma so whiny this season?”
Let’s see. She basically lost her entire family and her memories within a span of a few hours. A year of her life was a complete and utter lie and yet still better than her actual life. And why was it better? Because she was living with her wonderful son, living in a beautiful apartment enjoying her life, working in a job she enjoyed, and in love! The man she loved proposed to her, and she very much considered it. But that part of her life turns out to be an absolute lie and the man she loves is a flying monkey that intends to destroy her. She shouldn’t be whining yet?
Let’s move on. She returns back to Storybrooke, a place full of some of her best and worst memories. She finds her parents, the ones who sent her off to live in a completely different world alone right after she was born, and lo and behold they’re expecting another child. Henry’s uncle is younger than him; just the addition to his messed up family that she needed. Speaking of her son, she now has to lie to Henry, and for what reason: to hide his entire (living) family from him. What’s there to complain about?
And of course, she isn’t in Storybrooke to enjoy herself. Oh no,no. She left her wonderful life to do what she was born to do: be the saviour. Doesn’t matter if she wants it or not. It’s hers. She spends her time searching for a villain no one knows about, because of course, they can’t remember! That’s not exhausting at all.
And of course there’s that small issue that the father of her child and the man she said she loves might be dead. Or a flying monkey. But of course, he’s not either of those. He is in fact dying, and to protect him from death, he now shares a body with his father. The father that killed himself, by the way. And obviously, he can’t stick around! He dies in her arms. And then she has to explain to her son, who can’t remember his father despite meeting him, that his father is dead. Piece of cake.
She then puts her trust in a pirate and allows him to look after the most precious thing in the world: Henry. Of course, this was after she buried the man she loves. No biggie. This is Emma Swan; she is expected to take on all of this. In fact, she’s expected to take on even more. Which she does when she discovers that the man she entrusted with her son is in fact capable of taking away the one thing she needs to defeat the women that’s trying to kill people she cares about. Or at least that’s what he told her right after he tries to send her 13 year old son away on a boat he can’t row.
And finally, her brother is born. Happy moment, right? Wrong. Little brother gets kidnapped by before mentioned woman trying to kill everyone she loves. And then the before mentioned pirate capable of taking her powers nearly dies, forcing her to give up her powers.
But really, why should any of this matter? Why should she whine; her life isn’t that hard! Why should she want to leave a town where there is someone trying to hurt her or her son every other week? Why shouldn’t she want to go back to a life where she was happy? She’s Emma Swan. She doesn’t deserve happiness.
Ding, ding ding!

ParticipantComing out from my tent of H.O.P.E to read the zany predictions for the outcome of season 3 finale. All I can say is most of you are more creative than the OUAT writers. They should be very afraid of you. A & E might just replace their writers 🙂
I also found myself, from reading some of the comments in regards to CS kiss, it is supposed to mean it was TL. Now, who in their right mind would call giving CPR a TL kiss, unless you are 20 or 30 maybe 40 something and thinking like a teenager!
“Love is true when it comes from the heart and not from the mouth.” Anon.
The CS shippers, IMO, are seeing a romance where there is none. Hook is what they called in the golden days of movies, a sidekick, a comic foil, hardly someone a heroine would see in a romantic light. That is so evident since that ‘Neverland’ kiss, a ploy by the writers to whet the fantasies of the adult female viewers with a teenagers mind. Do I sound harsh? Perhaps. OUAT is an adult fairy tale for sure. There is a need for comic relief now and then. I like how Hook is evolving, he is struggling with his destiny too. Only it’s not with Emma in a romantic way, but good friends, yes.

ParticipantI think the best way to get Neal back in some form without using MJR (if he doesn’t want to come back or something) is having him reincarnate in a new form or something.

Participant“Emma’s biggest issue with Hook is that he sees through her fears and that scares the heck out of her. Perhaps if Charming gets his courage back he can share some of it with his daughter.”
— Tv Fanatic, May 4, 2014Hook and Emma have always had this understanding of one another. It goes way back to “Tallahassee” where Hook mentions being able to read Emma like an open book. They have had similar life experiences, and because of this, Hook is able to confront Emma about why she really wants to leave. It’s not about Henry’s safety, it is partially about Emma being afraid of a happy ending. Hook and Emma’s discussion about this is not only a great character moment for Emma, but it is a great one for their relationship. – TV Examiner
So let’s get this clear. Emma is afraid of a happy ending now? This is Emma Swan who said she didn’t want to leave her family in 3×11. Then when she actually had a happy life with Henry, she was once again reluctant to disrupt the happiness she felt. But now that the pirate is making Emma uncomfortable with his nonstop insistence that he’ll win her suddenly Emma is afraid of happiness? Nope. She’s uncomfortable around Hook.

Participant*delurks* This is my OUaT happy place. I run from tent to tent and hop the train, but refuse to settle anywhere because there just isn’t any grounding at all from the show. Maybe I’m riding the balloon…I’m not really sure, but I think my following of OUaT would be left behind if not for the fun I’ve had reading this thread during the miserable times. I’ll see where A&E take me Sunday. I cannot continue to watch tv that teaches being good and doing the right thing makes you miserable and rewards you with nothing but heart ache and disrespect. I also cannot stomach that redemption, although attainable, trumps true consistent doing the right thing. It is not something I want to watch unless there is equal atonement and not just “oops” or “sorry”. And it would take tons of random acts of kindness to make up for the deeds done by some of these characters. I still have my tiny atom of hope that happy endings are available to those who work selflessly with no accolade or expected reward. I guess I would like to see justice somewhere in the whack that this story has become.
I’m posting from my phone and apologize for content and spelling errors. Its hard to see all the post. Thank you guys for the cocoa and cinnamon! I’m running in the fields now because its my birthday and a day that excuses marguerita consumption. I think I need to get ready for the weekend. *skips away whistling aimlessly towards the feilds, holding a pitcher of margarita and no expectations for a real(ly) bold story*May 5, 2014 at 9:56 pm #266673RumplesGirl
