yes, and you know why? because I trust hat the writers are not stupid trolls. I trust that the same writers who gave us 101 – 311 will continue to give us a good story. one of happiness and heroism and sacrifice (the good kind, not the futile kind)

this quote is like a riddle. I get the “you lost yourself part, but how did absorbing Neal mean that he “got his son”?
why absorb him in the first place?

New Coldplay song came on the radio and as I was hearing, “Coz you’re a skkkkyyyyyy full of staaaaaarrrrrs,” over and over, I kept seeing Emma holding Neal’s coconut and saying “home” and There’s No Place Like Home aaaaannnnnd FEELS.

The problem is that many of us have had our faith in the writers pretty much shattered. So while on the one hand, yes, these things are absolutely in the show even after Neal’s death, on the other hand, his death in the first place is nonsensical judging by what had been in the show beforehand. Once you feel like someone’s lied to you, which is how many of us feel about A&E right now, going back to believing them again right away is a big ask.
Was just posting in the Sneak Peek thread and had an OMG-do-I-dare-to-dream moment, but didn’t want to risk starting a debate over it because I know it’s a much debated issue, so figured I’d just post it here instead. I was commenting on how it didn’t make much sense for Hook to be there with Emma and Rumple because DUH Hook and Rumple have issues and Rumple probably wouldn’t want to help Hook in any way, so why is he present for that conversation? Then I realised that Emma doesn’t know how their history all fits together yet (that’s the bit that I know has been debated, some people assume she’s totally put it together, but I’m on the team that maintains that it has never been clarified that she’s fully aware). So, do I dare to dream that this situation might result in an argument between Rumple and Hook where that full truth actually comes out, and Emma has a O_______O moment because, “Wait…your Milah…was Rumple’s wife…was Neal’s mother?!” *squashing down my dream and getting an elephant to sit on it because now I really sorta need for this to happen because it’s the perfect opportunity*
Okay a LOT has been said already about this topic, but I just have to say that the line A&E are walking with Hook is a very very very very VERY fine one. I saw all the interviews last night and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Probably should never read A&E interviews right before you go to sleep.
I don’t wanna fly into a rage just yet though, since I haven’t seen their final product. They still might be consistent with Emma and have her not be interested in Hook, but if they make Emma “change her mind” about him now, that will send some seriously wrong messages. To both girls AND guys. Guys will think oh I see I only have to be persistent enough for girls to eventually come around to me. If she says no, surely she’ll say yes after I keep flirting and pushing. And girls will think that that’s an ok thing for them to do.
*sighs a big sad sigh*
But yeah like I said, we don’t know yet if that’s what they are going to do. So I am simply going to wait and see.
Regarding Neal never coming back, I accepted that a long while ago. I never had any hope that we might see him again, so that little piece of (redundant) confirmation didn’t shock me a whole lot.
As for what Phee just said, that was kinda what I was thinking too. That maybe now that they are in the past, Hook’s actual past would come to light. Something Emma really hasn’t been confronted with yet.

They keep saying things like “We love(d) Neal.” “We love(d) MRJ” If you love(d) him so damn much why did you kill him? And how come it took so long to be totally clear? I still say nothing about this makes sense. Not on the show and not behind the scenes.
Also if I see them say one more time he’ll live in flashbacks I’m going to throw something. Firstly what flashbacks? Are you really gonna go back to when he was a kid? I think Dylan is a little old for that now. There’s obviously going to be no exploring more of Neverland. They clearly don’t care about that. Which is ironic given that Peter Pan is apparently a favorite.
It makes sense to flashback to dead characters like Cora or Graham because they had connections to the past stories of others. I think we saw the last of Neal as a kid in Nasty Habits. Not sure what else there is to explore pre portal. They’re obviously not interested in exploring Emma’s past so I don’t think we’ll see that. He died fairly quickly upon return to the Enchanted Forest and I think we saw all there was to see there. So please tell me what flashbacks is it of which you speak? Frankly I don’t want them anyway. They’re just a tease.
And for the love of all things holy just be fucking honest. No one is buying this was your plan all along. Either your actor wanted out because you were giving him next to nothing or you just changed your minds with the wind just because. you know what IS a curious thing? that what do people use a heart, a brain and courage for? to protect what’s innocent. Rumple used all that to protect innocence, to protect his Baelfire. Snow and Charming went dark to protect innocence, to protect their unborn child. they used their HEART to protect that baby. they used Rumple’s brain (or whatever was left of it) they used Charming’s courage to die for that cause…
it’s curious that the show used innocence as the fourth “item” needed for the time travel curse. (is innocence in the original WoO story or is it made up by A&E?)
