Welcome to the thread, Baelfire lives on. Wow, you registered just to delurk in our thread!! I feel so honored. While I can appreciate your opinion, I (and I would venture to guess most of the others here) would wholeheartedly disagree.

As for this thread being an anti-CS thread, I guess that is an unfortunate side effect of a triangle. Discussion of one side of the triangle will inevitably include discussion of why one side is supported, as well as why the other side is not. And when you take a case whee the side we support is literally *dead* then it should not be surprising that the latter discussion becomes predominant! The lack of need to defend that viewpoint is, after all, the point of ship threads. Ship and let ship, not, “go into ship threads and tell them why they suck.”

I am glad you have found solace in CS and see them having been written as canon from the get go. I think that’s a big sack of hooey; I did as a GA viewer and I do more now as a detail-oriented ship viewer. When I can go back to S1 and see the SF story told across multiple episodes (Pilot, Price of Gold, True North,) that’s a pretty good indicator *to me* that it is the story that was planned from the start. At some point, apparently the course changed – that’s cool, A&E have the right to tell whatever story they choose. I have the right to not “buy” the story as authentic to the characters and to the initial fabric of the show. We’ve gone from “hope!” To “life sucks and then you die, unless of course, you cheat to get what you want.”

But we are not here to debate SF vs. CS with people of opposite viewpoints – that’s been tried, and it doesn’t work, hence no more CSF thread. Anyways, I just have to thank you for your extreme sensitivity in coming into our safe haven – under the guise of being a fellow fan nonetheless – on the eve of what is almost certainly the final deathknell and shattering of the last glimmer of hope for not just our ship, but a character we hold near and dear to our hearts. Is it so incredibly kind and considerate of you to come into someone’s home and tell them why they are wrong, why the opposite “side” was always going to win, and why their thread sucks so much. So I sincerely hope you get great satisfaction in tonight’s episode, and knowing you brought kind words of comfort to those of us who are watching the final nails be driven into the coffin of a story we are emotionally invested into.

I hope you enjoy the finale. The after party will be held on the old troll bridge, have a blast.

don’t worry. we will ALL be at the party. it will be a SF party. you’ll see. I trust A&E, I do. they are not stupid. SF is true love and Emma needs to be happy. with all that time travel going on, how could anyone still not at least hope? (if not be totally sure that SF wil be back)

Welcome to the thread, RG will be bringing gifs and goddies soon.

I think Hook was suppose to be a “thing” like the flirty fling but not Emma’s true love. If this was plan from the beginning there would be no Milha-issue (see how that wasn’t address at all in the storyline of season 3.  If true love was plan then Milha wouldn’t be swept under the proverbial rug because that would be an meaty issue) and Neal would have not died, because he would be set up as moving on to someone else with a new love. Somewhere in the background the storyline change it was no longer about a fun time in Vegas and the powerful love that Neal and Emma shared.

I think Colin is awesome though and would look forward to see him in another show once this one is over. Hopefully something with little bit more layers and some grit. But I do not like Hook, I do not like CS and I will not change that for nothing.  I don’t agree with the message. I don’t find their story to be all that  compelling or unique. To me its very shallow, cliche, and boring storyline. Heroine hook-s up with hot guy in leather, been there done that.

But I will keep loving Neal and Swanfire and the beauty and heart of story about a lost boy and lost girl finding Home in each other. I do love the story how to people who love each get past the hurt. The question proposed and yet never answers because half of the puzzle piece died.

Now I do think they will go CS, yes they wouldn’t kill Neal if they weren’t go there. (That’s why some were hoping and begging that Neal died.)

I still love them though, they had the potential to be a great heartfelt story….

Darn me and my high expectations, I need to start lowering them down a notch…. 😀

Yep, Ranisha. Guess we were totally insane to expect them to follow through on the amazing love story they set up.

ETA: Marty, from a show-based perspective, I totally agree. Everything shown *on the show* gives us every reason to hope. But every interview and input from OUTSIDE of the show is so completely opposite what we see onscreen and it’s pretty hard for our sad little minds to compete with what we’ve been fed, both cumulatively and most particularly in the most recent interviews.

I love how I manage to hold out hope for six weeks and give up three days before finale. Sigh. Or mostly give up, this IS a Phoenix-themed story…

Twelve hours from now it will all be done.

It’s always darkest before the dawn…

exactly!!!! if Hook was planned from the beginning that Emma would hook up with him for a spell, there is a good reason they made hook a MOTHER-STEALER! (I could use another term, but no cussing in this forum 🙂

so Hook was written out to be a mother-stealer to Emma’s truest love… come one people… how could anyone even worry?

That one detail that Hook ended up with Neal/Baelfire’s mother and now most likely end up with Emma, who is Neal’s love, is still bothering me as it feels so wrong to me. I wish someone would point that out to the writers. It will not change anything but I want to hear the writers thoughts on that one small issue.

We will meet again, in another life...

We worry because the show runners have now said in no uncertain terms our guy is dead, presented a rape culture story as a beautiful love story, and carry on as if the center of the show (and father of core character) can be burned out without consequence.

Unless they are trolling the fanbase – Neal is dead but Bae will return, CS is only being explained from Hook’s POV, and/or they are outright lying – there is ample reason to worry.

They have the WAY for return laying right in their laps. But do they have the will? I LOVE how Ranisha posed that many pages back. Interviews indicate no, promo photo indicates no, but… these guys seem awfully invested in surprising their fans this finale, so we will see.

To both new delurkers: welcome! You get hot cocoa and cookies.

I think I need to address a few things.

    1) As far as the anti-CS stuff goes, yes we have gotten a bit rockier in that regard. Side of affect of Neal dying. But, it’s not as if the CS thread is nothing but happiness and joy. I’ve seen plenty of very anti-SF stuff. You cannot talk about the other side of the triangle without explaining why you don’t hate it. Sometimes I do wonder where the line is and if I should be stepping in, but this is *our* thread. If it make people uncomfortable, then I apologize and will bear it in mind.

    2) If you have come to accept CS as canon, that’s okay. I have as well–but not because it was planned from the start. Even if/when they do declare them to be TL, it doesn’t mean I have to ship it. I’ll still be here with my guys missing Neal and analyzing the show as it goes on.

    3) Matt was saying this last night but the biggest problem in our fandom is oversensitivity. Everything is taken as an insult or a slight–be it shipping or character “bashing”

I think for the most part, most of us know what is about to happen, though we’d love to be wrong. For those of you still holding on to hope, I salute you.

    9.5 hours to go. <3

Hey. Before things start getting crazy at my house for Mother’s Day, I wanted to pop in and say hello, and likely, goodbye. I’ve always hated “goodbye cruel forum” posts, but this isn’t really one of those. Perhaps a “goodbye cruel show” post.

Just wanted to say I’ve appreciated having this thread as a haven and place to sound off. 🙂 You’re amazing, creative and talented people, and I’ve enjoyed “talking” to you immensely. And I wish you all the best.

I’m not planning to watch tonight, although I’m going to keep an eye on spoilers, etc., on the miniscule chance we have a miracle. I’m not expecting one. (Sorry, Capt. Kirk. This communications officer has abandoned the Bridge of Optimism.) I’ve barely been able to look at the forum all week. The show I enjoyed so much has become something that gives me a stomachache. Isn’t that sad? So I sincerely doubt I’ll be back. This is no longer a story I want to see.

And, yes, I consider CS positively repugnant. Colin may be a nice fellow (I’ve never heard otherwise), but this whole story (as they’re telling it now) reeks of the triumph of style over substance, and I’ve never been able to stomach that. And there’s a particularly nasty message there I know many of you see too.

I’m still SF all the way. I just see too many places that story was being built … until, suddenly, it wasn’t. And no one will ever convince me it wasn’t due to either MRJ asking to get out (which he says he didn’t do) or CS whiners. (I know that term is not particularly polite. I do not particularly care.)

And so, best wishes to you all. It really has been fun.

    Be well.
