Emma + Baelfire = Swanfire

So I just want to understand a few things:

1) Time was not a completely closed loop, but they chose not to save Neal, but inadvertently, saved Marian?
So then, instead of being as centered on Henry, both Regina and Emma are worrying about their romances? Was that scene with Henry in the background sort of a thing, where you see Henry leaving or was he the center of the scene, visibly upset?

2) How did Emma get her magic back or did she?

3) Did they show the pendant at all or not?

I didn’t expect them to bring Neal back, because I was in the tent of doom, but I did expect them to tease it a little and pull the football away like Lucy with Charlie Brown. The real question I have is–would you say they were really going for “closure” or more like bittersweet, everything isn’t awesome? OQ is in shambles, Rumple lied to Belle, and well, Henry feeling upset and running off could spell trouble, plus new villain on her way.

I’m curious about it all, how much would general audience types feel unsettled versus “Oh yay! So close to happy endings!”.

There is some debate on whether Henry departed upset, or just happened to get up from the table.

I am with Phee, what a waste of a beautiful story. The worst part is that they STILL made it clear in this episode, Neal defined Home for her (literally defined it, she parroted his words,) AND saved them all… again… with the skills he taught her. And his reward? Getting to stay dead, while the girl he loves makes out with the pirate who stole his mom.

No one sees how incredibly wrong this is? “Story demanded it?” No, you betrayed the story by writing it. Give me a flipping break.

Agree that the Marian 180 in attitude is the icing on the cake. “She was going to die.” So she knowingly altered history to save Marian, but begged Rumple NOT to save the man she claims to have loved from certain death?

They just have just utterly assassinated the character of Emma Swan to make CS fly. That is so amazingly disappointing to me.

Sigh. Watching our final beautiful SF scene one more time and then heading to bed. At least there’s fanfic, we’ll always have fanfic…

Cause this story needs some mending & a better happy ending...

I’m really sad to be in Sad Town right now. I knew that this was pretty much where I was going to end up (I even got myself a job here, and an awesomely Sad Twin who lets me freeload in her sad shack), but deep deep deep down a little part of me was hoping to be wrong. Right now I’m in a much more subdued version of where I was at after 315. Just sad, and heartbroken, and wishing there was more, there was something different, a different outcome. I still just don’t get it. I really don’t. I’m kind of waiting to either get over it, or finally have one last good cry. It might happen when I work on my Sad Neal fic, hopefully.

Neal’s definition of Home was right. Swanfire was Home for me. It has been since season 2 and will probably continue to be for a very long time, if not forever. I knew it was home before it was dead, but I know without a shadow of a doubt now that it was and still is Home. And I miss it. I miss it so badly. And I’m just going to have to pick up the pieces and move on, but jeez does this hurt right now. I want to go back Home guys? Is that really too much to ask?

Ah. That’s where those pesky tears have been hiding.

I just watched the Emma and Neal scene, and OMG, “all about the tumblers”. Ie all about the tumblers online fans…Was it meant to be jarring?

Given that they say things like, “You killed a man for your ship,” I doubt it was accidental.

The tears have finally started. I had to get back up and say my final words, a genuine, sad thank you to A&E for this beautiful love story. Such as it was, what we saw of it, was one of the best love stories I’ve seen told in a long time. Just hate that we didn’t get to see it play it to its logical conclusion – where a lost boy and a lost girl find their home, together. It astonishes me a bit that they handed that to us tonight, and yet, they didn’t fulfil it.

Genuinely, I feel like this was a direction that was chosen FOR the showrunners, not by them, and wonder if it makes them as sad as as it makes us. Ten years they planned this story, and to change for reasons -outside of it? That has to hurt.

Crying myself to sleep tonight, for the frustration and that what should have beens, and then that is it. I refuse to shed another tear for this show, I just can’t justify the energy spent on it. Hate that I let myself get sucked into this trap again. Hate it, hate it, hate it. Love you all – but hate the emotional wreck that I am right now.

The writers took the storyline that was meant for Swanfire and transferred it to Ana and Will. The finale for OUAT in WL far outranks OUAT now in my book.

There was almost nonstop Hook and Emma, but we got barely ten minutes of Rumple and Belle. There is something wrong with that picture. Rumbelle is (or was) THE ship. And Adam and Eddy killed a man for a ship, just like Hook did. But Emma doesn’t know, and probably never will, about Blackbeard, Baelfire being given to Peter Pan, or Milha being Bae’s mom. That’s no way to start a relationship, just as that is no way for Rumple and Belle to start a marriage based on a lie. It won’t last long in my opinion, but then, what do I know? I thought Neal’s S3 poster said to believe in second chances. Something obviously changed at some point in S3 for it to have gone so off course.
