Phee, Emma won’t find out about anything. Not about Blackbeard, not about Mihla, not about Hook teaching Henry to cheat. Because why would she need to? Hook is there, he is hot, and he gave up his ship for her. That totally trumps the guy who gave up his happiness & his life for her… far better to make out with the pirate than to give the sacrificial lamb another chance.

Oh wait, I forgot. He got a baby named after him. That fixes everything.

(Yes, I have now moved on to bitter & pissed.)

So much for Milah being his true love and for him pining for her for 300 years?! What the heck???

Neal points his true love to her home, he gets to remain dead. Because the 47,593 ways to save him weren’t something anyone felt like doing this week.

The worst part is, if they’d just allowed Rumple to remain in character, they could have brought Neal back so easily. Instead we get him not caring that his son died when he was at the height of his obsession to find him, and we get him regresing and dishonouring what Neal would have expected of him in present day. *FLIPS TABLE*

Exactly. but Rumple goes all OOC and is like “i shall totes drink this potion now and not save my son!!”

Agreed. This is the end of the road for me. I knew deep down that the show had jumped the shark in 3×15. Yet, I let the writers have the benefit of the doubt, seeing as they’d pulled off brilliant misdirection before. But, this finale confirmed for me the show really is a lost cause. It’s been a real pleasure getting to chat with all of you . Oh well. This experience taught me a lesson. Never get invested in fictional characters, even in a show  about family always finding each other. Peace everyone.

Oh da*n RG, you made me cry again :p The feeling is mutual.

Part of it for me is I wanted SO BADLY for this to be a source of hope for so many of you who need it. Because it should be. But no… it’s just another example of how life gives you the finger.

Interestingly enough, read an interview either yesterday or the day before whereby Eddy mentioned that when he & Adam created the show, they wanted the message to be one of hope (or something similar to that.) I found the past tense interesting and wondered – but it seems to me that even our show runners have given up on the message of hope and happy endings. In its own way, that’s devastating to me.

Cause this story needs some mending & a better happy ending...

Yep Slurp. Ditto on all you said. Never again will I invest like this – never again.

I find it hard to imagine that this show is still about hope when everyone right now is sorta going..”um. what?” whether it be OQ or SF or BabyNealGate

*WARNING: emotional and incoherent rant coming up*

Guys… I am so angry and so sad. I just finished watching the episode and I am in tears honestly. This hurts. Really it does. Where do I even begin? I was expecting this but somehow it still gutted me. The CS movie, the kiss, Hook and Emma now having a hand in the Snowing love story. Rumple… god Rumple and Emma telling him his son died and he STILL drank the potion!! Emma now having a brother named Neal exactly like I feared. And CS becoming a thing, just cause they went on 1 adventure together?? He gave up his ship, WOW what a sacrifice. Let’s talk about what Neal gave up. Pretty much everything and what did he get in return? Death. The Rumbelle wedding, could’ve been so beautiful but it’s tainted because he’s lying to her. I feel like he’s making a fool out of her and she doesn’t deserve it. And Marian?! Again no happiness for Regina. No, but happiness for the pirate and his princess Leia. And the Swanfire scene. D*** it! It only existed to show us where she got her lock picking trick. Sorry if I’m being bitter about this, but it felt like oh let’s throw in a Neal scene at random 20 episodes after he died without anyone mentioning him since then. Her home was with Neal. He taught her everything she knows about survival, about love, about family.

And lastly… Elsa!! Please noooo! Leave her alone!

PS. I am very on the fence if I want to keep watching. And I have to tell you that is very uncommon for me. I never abandon a show because I always wish to know how it all ends. I stick with it. I am glad there is now a hiatus because that may give me some time to come around. But wow, this is all that goes on in my head right now: they gave Neal’s story to Hook. Neal was supposed to take that journey with her to her parents past. Why? Because Neal has always been the one to show Emma what love is about. They were gonna get back together after their trip and Henry would have his father back in his life…. I just… yeah…

Neal only gave his life. Put himself in mortal danger to protect people multiple times in his life. But, yeah, Hook gave up his ship, which he only knew to do because Neal told him, and that totes trumps being willing to give up one’s own life. Apparently.

I know I’ll keep watching, because I have to see the whole show out no matter what. But right now I’m SO happy for a long break, because I just feel so DONE with it all. The last time I got this emotionally attached to a show, it got axed after 16 eps. Maybe one day I’ll learn. At least I made a few friends in that fandom who I’m still friends with years later, so it wasn’t a total wasted investment.

You know what surprises me most of all about this? That I feel this way. I mean I have been preparing for this for ages. Everything played out exactly how I thought it would. I guess there really is a difference between knowing it and actually seeing it right in front of you. I tried to reply in some of the threads about the episode, but all my responses were snarky and I felt like I should at least spare, those who did enjoy the episode, my depressingness. Instead I’m bothering you all with my depressingness, which seems even more unfair, but I really don’t have anywhere else to go with my feelings.
