Keeper of Rumplestiltskin's and Neal's spears and war paint and crystal ball.
Didn’t watch the episode, but read spoilers. Couldn’t stay away. I needed to talk to somebody. 🙂
(Side note: If the over-reaching theme of Season 4 is “Actions have consequences, which I hope it is, Hook’s “issues” may yet come home to roost. We’ll see. Or I won’t “see,” but I’ll read. *shrug*)
Anyway, what I came back for: I was thinking about the last TV death I was really upset about (Trip on “Enterprise” … I don’t watch much TV, can you tell?) In the Star Trek novels, they completely ret-conned the death. (They did the same with Data’s in the “Star Trek: Nemesis” movie.) And there have been other times my brain has simply refused to acknowledge something like this (the Lone Gunmen in “The X-Files”) and in my personal head canon, it never happened.
We have lots of really creative people here. Let’s put together our own ret-conned season 3B. And maybe even 4 and beyond …
We could call it “Project Phoenix.”
It doesn’t have to be a total script re-write, although it could go there if we eventually want it to do so. Starting out with the episode names of 3B, those interested could write a synopsis of each episode the way it should have been. Then if there’s still interest, we could write outlines of each episode. Then on to actual vignettes … and/or scripts.
I think it would be cathartic. And even … fun? And Neal would live on in something more than our hearts.

-- Dylan ThomasOkay, so I’m still raging about the unbelievably stupid explanation about how how Hook got to Emma. I have no problem with him giving up his ship to get to her. I think that’s actually one of the few truly selfish things he’s done (especially with 317 in context), but A BEAN? A MAGIC BEAN?!? Let me get this straight, there were more magic beans out there, even though everyone had unequivocally stated that they were all gone, that there was NO WAY to get back to the LWM EVER? Um… excuse me?
If there were more beans out there, no matter what the cost of attaining one (and let’s be real here, if all it took was trading a ship for one, I think between Snowing and Regina they would have been able to come up with SOME sort of comparable payment) then the following things would never have needed to happen:
– Snow would never have needed to cast the Dark Curse.
– Charming would have his actual heart.
– Neal would never have needed to resurrect Rumple to try to get back to Henry and Emma. Think about that one for a moment. If there were more beans, and Hook knew where and how to get them (though there is always the possibility he didn’t find out about this until after the curse was cast), then Neal could still be alive.
– For that matter, if Hook loved Emma so much, then why didn’t he try to attain said magic bean PRIOR to the curse to be with her, especially if he thought they were TL?
– And going way waaaaaay back here, if there were beans, then Rumple would never have needed the original Dark Curse.What do you want to bet that a magic bean is the BECAUSE PLOT excuse they could use for how Walsh got to Emma 8 months before the curse?
But seriously, if there were more beans, Neal could still be alive and a lot of this stupid mess with the Dark Curse would never needed to have happened. ALL BECAUSE PLOT. BECAUSE STUPID &%&*^$ PLOT!

- Rumple is now married based off of a lie.
- They have retconned A LOT of S1.
- The family tree is now worse than soaps.
- Neal died unnecessarily.
- Regina loses everything.
- …And now they’re tarnishing the newest Disney animated movie (no matter how cool the ice effects were).
