ParticipantYes, RG. That is where, at the end of the day, I keep coming back to it being effing ridiculous. They set up the story in a manner that was expressly intended to bring him back. And then they… didn’t. What?!
If he needed to be dead, leave him dead. That was the case with Graham, you know? Bury him, leave it alone. Don’t kill him, then bury him. Two episodes later, tease that you can bring him back with a time travel spell. Two episodes later, enact time travel spell. Then spend two episodes time traveling, EXPLAIN that he needs to be brought back, and then say “Don’t do it!”
I mean, is it a retcon of SF? She says she loved him, but did she really? And how do you do that to your child, your little boy who now has to face his coming of age years without his Dad? I don’t even know how to take that scene, I can’t even figure in my mind how to interpret it. It was absolute, complete, total idle cruelty.
They killed a man for their ship, and then toyed with the emotions of their fans before… leaving him dead. Seriously. If that’s not the definition of twisting the knife, I don’t know what is. (Oh yeah. Having him appear and reminding us how amazing and wonderful he was… but that we can’t have him back.)

ParticipantNo, I get you Onyx. I am now at the same point. But remember the game I play before the episodes, what is the WORST case scenario and then what you get is not as horrible. And that was fabulous, when we were trying to tread water to get from 315 to 322. But at 322, the initial “it’s not as bad” was replaced in short order by, “Not as bad doesn’t mean bad,” and, it’s over.
I promise you can’t be more sensitive drama queen than me. I had to be a grown-up for an hour today; I fought back tears on the way there and cried on the way home, and other than that, I have been fanning (or rather the activity formerly known as fanning. Grieving would be the most apt term at the moment.)
Ann, if you’ve gotten through the flashback I would truly and honestly stop there. It only gets worse from there on out; well, there is the scene with Marian in the jail that follows directly thereafter which is SF (because, all of who Emma is must be based in SF, don’t ya know,) but nothing after that will serve to do anything but hurt.

ParticipantNot a peep, Jaxer.
Guessing that’s there as one of the ten THOUSAND things to say, “Yep, SF are TL, we just can’t *say* it because ABC wants this going in a different direction.”

ParticipantThe only thing that makes me a bit happy, is Sir Shatner seemed to be happy about Neal’s flashback. I want the two trolls to listen to him but they won’t. Introducing Frozen, that’s how low they feel to get as many viewers as they can. That show is dead to me. God I am so angry, I’m sorry and why the fuck, sorry RG I’ll swear on this one, why is that show making me so sad. It seriously does. Sorry guys for the drama, I don’t know why but the show really makes me sad. I won’t even comment on CS. I’m glad for the shippers they got what they want, but really, how is this brought up : “Try and try, never give up, the girl will eventually give in”. Ok I shut up before being rude, I just HATE the show right now. And yeah, Prince Neal? Thanks for the stab in the heart Adam. The only Prince Neal I want is Bae. But yeah, you killed him. So ty for making me remmeber of Prince Neal.
Sorry guys, I’m a serious mess right now -_- I’m so angry.

Yeah that game worked so well for the previous eps. I got some laughs out of it and what was on the show was indeed not as bad as the things we made up. The reason why it didn’t work this time I think, is because our actual worst case scenarios, did happen. There was nothing funny about that in hindsight.
I guess I just don’t wanna feel alone in my silly grief. Though I can see now that I really am not. Not sure I would know what to do if I didn’t have you guys to vent with. *hugs*

ParticipantNope. I just had to explain to Other Roomie (whom thus far didn’t understand the extent of my ‘fanning’ nor my specific shipping, when I started, etc) that I have spent my entire darned day sad fanning. She told me she would be sad if something in her RL didn’t happen, I told her she could cry with me, only hers would be way more justified because it was actually real.
She may be GA, but she is still upset by the situation today. Not cry-and-disrupt-life upset 😉 but stand-on-the-steps-and-have-a-five-minute-vent upset. She thought MRJ wanted out to do other projects; I told her nope. I said either it was writers on crack or an ABC mandate; she voted for the former and when I explained about ABC’s Hook-obsession (“Can we get some Hook in this scene?”) she was utterly appalled. She was just astonished that they have effectively trashed the entire arc of the show in order to serve this one character’s hotness.
Bestie-roomie just arrived at my room to vent about shipping things, I should probably sign off and deal with that, lol.

ParticipantWe need this:
Here come bad news talking this and that, yeah,
Well, give me all you got, and don’t hold it back, yeah,
Well, I should probably warn you I’ll be just fine, yeah,
No offense to you, don’t waste your time
Here’s whySometimes its the sad love stories that are the most touching, the ones that never let go of your heart. Titanic, Romeo and Juliet, and oh, a dozen other stories that didn’t get the happy ending, the fairy tale and odd as it is, its proof enough THIS IS NOT A FAIRY TALE. This is a story of how Villains get to win. That’s it. For that to happen, it means that good people have to lose. It’s a tragedy. There may be happiness to be found, for the villains, and to varying extents, I see they are “earning” their way there, but at what cost to other characters in the story? It’s like a story at odds with itself, like Dr. Horrible Sing Along Blog which isn’t TRYING to tell a comic book story in a traditional “heroes save the day” way. Imagine if it was marketed as such? It would be a lot less entertaining rather than a sardonic take on things.
“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” -- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass

ParticipantCurses Jaxer! I can’t cry at work! ;_;
Why do I bother reading comments on blog posts. They always make me so angry that people never saw him the way we did. And sad. Just so sad that he wasn’t as universally loved as he deserved to be.

I love how the writers constantly had Emma and Rumple emphasis that bringing Neal back would ruin his sacrifice and make it be in vain throughout s3b, and yet, it was alright that Rumple came back after sacrificing his life.
Ugh*bangs head against keypad*
So it’s okay if Rumple’s sacrifice is in vain, but not Neal’s (which wasn’t really worth much since Snow and Charming really should’ve been able to figure out who Zelena was on their own, without Neal having to die for it). Now tell me why Neal “had” to die again. Oh right, to make room for Captain Swan.
