Like I said in the thread about the article, he’s either Neal, or he’s Baelfire. The baby doesn’t get to be both by default. Pick one and stick with it, A&E. Neal was his chosen moniker, Baelfire was his birth name. Almost everyone knew him as Neal. So are you naming the baby for the person you knew, or the boy Rumple lost? 1 name. Not both. Prince-ling Namestealer Neal is a new character, a new person. Nealfire is someone else and you don’t get to reapproprite BOTH names just because.

Their answer to this question proves that they thought they’d be placating angry fans.

I don’t know why A&E even bother anymore. They killed a man for a ship. They added a line about idle cruelty when it came to the prospect of Baefire’s return. They called the wizard a trickster who made promises he couldn’t deliver. A&E are showmen who hide behind a green curtain and try to appease the masses by trying to make Captain Hook a central character but are failing to make him relevant. The only main storyline Hook had all season was to kiss Emma. Otherwise, he served no other purpose, except in a minor way such as the dreamshade poison episode and the killing Blackbeard episode. Both of those plots were just “filler” and in no way served to further the overall plot in any substantial way. Also, even though he saved Charming’s life, he ended the life of Blackbeard. So he’s still a morally ambiguous character, at best, in my books.

Oh I saw a tumblr post about this just before that was the perfect illustration of how stupid this is. *goes to find it again*

I’ll trade you my car for a girl.
I love my car.
I have an emotional connection with car.
I have been through intense moments in that car.

Some of the hardest moments of my worst heartbreak happened in that car.
One of the happiest moments of my life also happened in that car. (Don’t think wrong. It was a phone call!)

So, next time I pursue a girl that had said “no” to me a million times, I will follow the advice of OUAT’s love experts.
