ParticipantAlso, even though he saved Charming’s life, he ended the life of Blackbeard. So he’s still a morally ambiguous character, at best, in my books.
And don’t forget that his “tactic” is to get women drunk…I think there’s a name for that…Oh yeah : rape.

Lacy Hook sounds like an interesting “ship” name.

This is one of the things that gets under my skin about it all, and it’s an extension of that post I linked to about how Emma is like a friend who gets involved with a relationship you just can’t support, so you can’t hang around and just watch it. As someone who loves Emma, I don’t want my girl falling in love with someone who has dark secrets. It’s not fair on her. She thinks he’s a standup guy, but actually no, he killed (at least) one person in the past year, and he essentially left Eric for dead as well in the process. The guy who Emma loved, Hook abused him as a kid, and Emma has no idea. He killed Rufio, and maybe other Lost Boys as well for all we know, but Emma’s allowing him to be around her kid. She doesn’t truly know Hook, so she can’t make a fully informed choice about whether or not she wants to be with him. It’s essentially the same thing as what Rumple’s doing to Belle right now. Dare I hope that they’re setting BOTH Rumple and Hook up in situations where their secrets will be exposed and their relationships will suffer because of it, (I do love Rumbelle, but right now, she needs to tear him a new one)? I have more faith in Belle discovering Rumple’s secrets than I do Emma discovering Hook’s secrets, because it seems the writers just want us to forget about all the bad stuff Hook has done. And seeing my girl Emma get involved with someone so shady, (and we’re talking serious blights on his character, like murder), it makes me angry, because she deserves so much better.

I have no doubts about that. Everyone’s relationship can suffer.. sorry ‘go through challenges’ Snowing, Rumbelle, OutlawQueen (with the new triangle), but mark my words, CaptainSwan will be happy as a unicorn flying over a rainbow. I will put money on it. Why? Because, Hook’s redeemed don’t ya know.

ParticipantI don’t understand the hold that these villains have over the audience. Sassy one-liners are great but it doesn’t make for great storytelling if you just sprinkle it here and there with no substance. All I hear is CHEMISTRY! Well chemistry is cool and all but what about story? You know getting a full beginning, middle, and end of fairy-tales? All were getting now is constant rehash arcs, character taking two steps forwards, a million steps back. And reboots of established plots and characters. It’s like a never ending circle.

Exactly. It bothers me that they’ve continually side swept the whole Rumple/Hook grudge. Which pissed me off when I was watching the finale. You can clearly tell that they’ve deliberately muted Rumple and Hook so as not to get into the deeper issue in front of EMMA! OMG I wanted to scream. I thought Rumple was lenient towards Hook given this timeline version of Rumple. Realistically he wouldn’t have played so nice and given Hook a hard time even if he was from the future.
That’s what destroyed the show for me. I actually felt ill while watching. I wanted justice for Neal and he never got it. I wanted justice for the Charmings and they never really got it. It just leaves me feeling so bitter. People say GOT is the most depressing show, I would have the disagree. At least they had some of their “good” characters paid back what was done to them, and boy did it feel good watching the payoff even if it’s brief. I need more payoff for the “Heroes” Emma got some when she realized what Home is to her and I felt happy for her, but then she ran off to suck face with Hook and not spend it with her family. Probably the most obnoxious kissing scene, inter cutting in between Rumbelle and OQ. That really ruined it for me.
The only salvage was like RG said before “No one saves me but me.” I love it. It was Emma from season 1 for a brief second. And using the tricks Neal taught her to survive was icing on the cake. Neal was her rock. I’m sure she used what he taught her in many of her bail bonds cases. The lock pick was also a call back to season 2 “Aw Hell no! I taught her that!” In Neverland there were so many instances of connection with Neal and what she remembered from him. It always leads back to him.

I completely agree–she’ll never know. Shoot, they even brought back Blackbeard (the man Hook KILLED in the missing year) and there was no sign whatsoever that Emma would learn the truth. Milah is another person Emma will never hear about. They danced around Milah so much in the finale it angered me. Hook’s never known true love??? Um. 300 years of revenge much?!

ParticipantNeal was her rock and her heart song.
Also I don’t understand the writers trying to convince certain viewers that Nealfire must stay dead so his sacrifice wouldn’t be in vain and he can remain Hero.
Excuse Me, Nealfire was always a hero, he didn’t have die to be a hero. He did the right thing because it was the right thing to do, and that makes him a hero in my books.
Sorry u can pull every excuse out of the book why Neal should not be brought be back I’m not buying it, when we got Will and Anna, Snowing sharing a heart. Come on.
Like I said there they have the WAY to bring back Neal they lack the Will to do it.
Luna: Chemistry is tossed around like water, chemistry is fine and dandy, but what you need is a story. Don’t get me wrong I like some hot flashy things too (former MadSwan shipper), but I love a overall good complex compelling well thought out and executed story more, Emma and Neal and Henry had that. It was something new, unique, different, complex, deep, endearing, and hopeful, but it wasn’t flashy, hip, and cool either.

ParticipantI swear, that Milah thing is a thorn in my side. Along with Hook handing Bae over to Pan. Those two things, annoy me the most. Emma will never know about any of it. And the fact that apparently that’s ok, no biggie, he’s different now, no need to drudge up the past etc. is just infuriating.
