I am just dying now for some Neal backstory and is Emma ever going to discover Neal and Hooks history at this rate?! 🙁

    *need* *so* *badly*

I just can’t believe that Hook would put that kind of pressure on Emma knowing that she has so much going on right now. At least Neal apologize for his actions. And of course hook made the duo into a trio, I think Neal and Emma would have been fine without Hook but I guess its sitll too soon for swanfire fans to get a team up.

I don’t like that Hook didn’t apologize after the whole thing. Both he and Neal were acting childish and Emma had every right to just nail them to the wall. But Neal stepped up, in good form one might say,and apologized.

I’m glad that Neal apologized.  It shows his true character and that he is recognizing when he is making mistakes.  I think it shows character growth and a level a maturity about him.  I love that Neal isn’t putting any pressure on Emma.  Just being there and letting her know that he will be there and be reliable.

And when are Hook and Neal going to have the real heart to heart talk.  They really need to do it seriously.  I need CaptianFire like now!!

Can I also say how cute were Tink and Neal!  They were so happy to see each other.  But I thought in a more platonic way like old friends and buddies not romantic in any way.  That would have been weird since you know Neal was just a kid of 14 when they met…

Yes he was 14. But I can already hear the FireFairies. But she looked at Neal like a long lost friend. She looked at Hook in 303 like he was a tasty dish she’d very much like to sample again.

Tink and Bae certainly had a friendship, because yeah, he was just a kid when they knew each other.

    Oh, like this?

Oh I think there was something more than friendship between Hook and Tink when Hook was there before… 😀

Hmm…the tone in Tink’s voice I interpreted as she wasn’t all that please to see him (being a villain and all) but now that I look at the way she eyed him, I don’t know if it’s indifference or there’s something sexy going on…scorned ex perhaps?

Just finished watching the ep, so my brief, initial reaction is to just agree with those of you who have said that if either of the guys showed “good form” in this ep, it was Neal. Neal’s realising when he’s acted inappropriately, and is apologising to Emma, validating how she feels. Hook’s putting pressure on her to feel a certain way. Neal’s actions will bolster Emma’s focus and confidence, Hook’s actions will distract and confuse her.

I’ve gotta believe that Kitswitz are aware of how they’re writing the two men as being in contrast to each other, so I’ve gotta believe that they’re writing them that way for a reason, and the reason that makes sense in my mind is that they’re setting up Neal as being Emma’s eventual choice.

Can we begin to unpack Neal’s reaction to Emma being magical? We’ve talked a little about this over the summer, but now would be a good time to bring it up.

    • In 2×16, Neal discovered that Emma was magical, and she said he didn’t get to be judgmental about it since he’s “Mr. Son-of-Rumplestiltskin”
    • In 3×7, Neal learns that Regina has been teaching her magic.
    • In 3×8 promo, we see that Regina and Emma are casting a spell together and moving the moon, possibly bringing about daylight to NL and you can see a glimpse of Neal’s head in the shot.

So given Neal’s aversion to dark magic, how is he going to respond to Emma using dark magic with Regina? IS Emma even using dark magic? Does Neal still oppose it as strongly as when he was a kid? We saw that Neal used the magic orb in 3×1 to see Emma, so he’s not completely averse to using magic to help save Henry and Emma. And now that Neal is part of their lives, he’s coming to terms with Emma being the product of true love and Henry being the truest believer. I think Neal being the son of Rumple might also make him somewhat magical too. Maybe Neal can help Emma use magic without having to give into darkness? He seems to understand that once you give in, it can destroy a family, as it did when his father chose power over him.

I don’t think he likes Emma using magic but he’s holding it in for now.  Maybe he realizes that to get Henry, it may be necessary.  And he doesn’t want to be all preachy with Emma right now.  I have to see more of his reactions with Emma using magic to gauge what he’ll do or say about it in the future.

I have to head to bed because it’s getting late here but I COMPLETELY agree with everything that’s all ready been written here. I just ranted hardcore on Twitter about how my initial reactions to the Emma/Neal/Hook scenes (short version: Neal’s awesome, Hook’s a d-bag) and I’m going to try really hard to avoid the comments sections of the OUAT recaps tomorrow. I’ve all ready seen one person talk about how romantic Hook was and I nearly threw up in my mouth. I don’t want a guy to ever talk to me that way! How is giving a woman an ultimatum romantic??! OMG. I’m gonna need a LOT of cookies for the next few weeks. *bangs head on wall* 🙁

I wanted to second all the earlier comments about how wonderful this group seems to be here in our little SwanFire haven. I feel like I can be myself and just say anything here and no one will judge me or put me down about it (actually, this whole forum seems to be that way but I do spend most of my time in this thread) and I have REALLY needed that thanks to the writers and their Triangle of Doom. Big *HUGS*to this entire group because I think we’re all going to need them! 😮
