emma spent her whole life looking for someone to let in and neal spent his looking for someone to let him in. neal’s been left with this aching for home, and emma’s aching to know what that’s even like. emma’s trying to figure him out in that scene; neal’s giving her all his story that he can because he needs someone to ask. emma needed hope because she’d never had it, neal needed hope because he’d lost it. they’re not just on the same page. they’re filling in each other’s blanks.

It would have been a very interesting spin on things and as for Henry being in the Rumple family line, that does not seem to be important at all now. Maybe his father could have been a Darling or descendant or something but it just would have thrown people for a loop. Nice mislead into thinking Rumple’s son is Henry father but no he is the guy out to kill him for killing his mother. It could have worked, and no ick factor. Then HookBae becomes the stepfather of Henry.

The main character is Nina, and at the end of last season she was in a relationship with Patrick (it wasn’t perfect, they were in counselling) and they were having a baby. Patrick died suddenly, was hit by a car, seemed to be OK, but then collapsed and died shortly after. Shortly after his funeral, she gave birth to their daughter.
The first ep of the new season was tonight, and it picked up 6 months later, and OMG I wish you could all watch it because they dealt with her losing him in such a real way. She still had moments of joy, but also moments of extreme sadness. There was a scene where her family were discussing how maybe she needs to get out there again and try to move on, and Nina overheard, and she said that she doesn’t really know what she wants from all of them, because what she wants from them is constantly changing, because her moods are so unstable and conflicting still. Then there was a scene where she told her sister that being happy didn’t necessarily mean moving on to dating someone new, that she’d had the great love of her life and she may never be interested in dating anyone again, and if that’s the case, then that’s OK. In another scene, when she thought her former counsellor was trying to hint that he was interested in her, (turns out he’s actually interested in her sister) she blurted out, “I’m very much in love with Patrick still.” In moments when she needs Patrick to be there, she sees him, she feels him, she talks to him and he talks back.
Watching that, it made me wish all the more that Once took the time to deal with things like this properly.
Here’s my prediction of season 4:
Elsa (who is related to Regina, yeah Cora got around apparently) is going to be the gay lover of Anna, who is dead (easy way to not have to bring in 2 characters but of course we’ll see how she died in a totally redundant flashback). Killed by Rumpelstiltskin (or Regina or Hook or any “villain” who is “going through redemption”) and she wants revenge and goes after Belle who gets kidnapped (again). Which effectively keeps up the tradition of seperating Rumbelle.
Marian gets into the crossfire of someone’s fight. Possibly Regina or Elsa will either purposefully or accidentally kill her. There’s 1 episode of sad faced Robin and then he kisses Regina and all’s well in the world.
Snowing will have minimal screentime. Their time is spent looking after the baby and there’ll be a “funny incident” with a diaper. Oh the trials of parenthood.
All the while Hook and Emma sit in the background making out. Oh yeah and at one point Elsa freezes Hook’s heart (or his lips) and that’ll be one of the “hardships” CS will have to go through. It’ll be a big drama because if Emma kisses Hook she freezes over. The final battle will revolve around them, but Emma won’t actually be the one to save the day.
Henry’s pretty much not mentioned, because… who’s Henry again?
Also, either Henry or Emma will say to Elsa: hey they just made a movie about you. Cause after 3 seasons it’s still a novelty that fairy tale characters are real…

I’m hoping that time heals all wounds, but I’m still feeling sad and broken. Haven’t watched since 314, depleted and dejected since 315, but angry and bitter about 321/322. Baby name drama, the whole “Emma loves Neal but can’t attempt TLK or changing the past while she’s sucking face with Hook and porting Marian to the future,” DO Rumple saying “Oh well,” introducing Elsa… it’s too, too much.
MRJ effectively having Neal say, “I coulda been a contender”… that helps. I’m taking that as a covert confirmation of BTS BS.
Beautiful GIF sets, fan fics, knowing I’m not alone… that helps. Not all viewers have lost their minds.
