KeymasterYou know what we haven’t seen yet? Rumple going to his son’s grave. Is there a reason why they show decided to skip that.
Son? What son?
Oh you know. that one guy. Nick? Baysmoke?

ETA: Thanks for the offer @Grimmsistr, but haven’t felt inspired to write anything lately. My muse is on hiatus, or possibly she’s on a permanent holiday, I’m not sure.
Okay. Let me know if you change your mind.

No no no, don’t be silly Sad Twin. That Baysmoke guy, remember, he appeared in that alternate reality. The one where everyone was worse off for knowing him.

ParticipantMarty you will always be my favorite.
Honestly, making a clean break with the show is probably the best thing for my sanity, but I have a friend and RP partner who still enjoys it and I feel a little guilty for pouring my burning hate into her lap.
it warmed my heart to find out that someone here likes me. Most people here hate me because I am mad at Bae for being rude to his father. I tried to stay away from this thread, because it is too much ouat, and I am sick of this stupid exhausting show. But this IS home, I guess, and when you aren’t there you do miss it…
I’m sorry about your dad, ouatrandothought
And big hugs Corbin…
And A&E, you idiots, how can they call that baby Baelfire in the EF and Neal in SB??? Wtf??? There are no princes in SB you puckers! So if he is PRINCE Neal, he is Neal everywhere!

Oh yeah! It was that one episode called “Everybody Hates Nial”? He ruined everyone’s lived because he was made of plague or something. He also bathed. Emma couldn’t stand that.

ParticipantI see where this is obviously going, but I don’t think I have the patience to wait for it to get there. My patience with this show is already very thin, I don’t think I can put up with more CS and evil!Rumple.
The only logical conclusion for the series finale would be to have someone (Emma, or rather Henry) go back in time to the moment that Bae was going to open the vault and bring him to the future. easy peasy. This is why they even HAD this whole time travel thingie, no? but wait — —
NOW they got permission to do ANOTHER season, season 4!!! So they can’t just end the story can they? No, now bringing back Baelfire will have to be a lot more complicated. Now Rumple has to become a lying evil imp again so that he could work on his new motive, which is to bring back Baelfire. He and Henry might have a secret mission called “operation Pheonix” or “operation Baelfire” or something since they’re the only ones who seem really upset that Neal isn’t back from Emma’s trip to the past. Maybe, like zelena, Rumple would need a heart, a brain, courage and a true love baby. Between Henry and Rumple I’m sure they can get the 3 necessary ingredients, …… they can use Rumbelle new baby as the true love baby………. and then Rumple will stab himself (again) but this time in a way that turns him into a china statue ………that Henry will have to break in order to activate the new time portal … which Henry will enter to bring Neal with him back to the future. Thus erasing Rumple out of existence, so that everything he did since being let out of that vault would be undone. (there you go: Henry=Rumple’s undoing, Rumple being Balefired so that Baelfire can come back.)
remember that “killing Henry” nightmare Rumple was having in season 2?
Maybe if Rumple was destined to leave a child who will grow up without its’ father, it’d be this new child he had with Belle, since even though everything Rumple did would be undone, (because he was not really living, it was a borrowed life, borrowed from Bae), this new little baby will still exist because it was born out of true love. They can name the baby Goldy.
And then Rumple will stay dead so that HIS sacrifice wouldn’t be in vain.
Let’s hope ouat won’t get another season so they can stretch the story even MORE.
Why couldn’t they END the story and start a new one? Oh, right, because they NEED Robert Carlyle in the show, otherwise it wouldn’t be good TV, right?
Think about the whole 3B. it ALL could have happened WITHOUT Rumple being alive. In fact, many scenes would have had so much more emotional impact! The letter that Regina found…. Zelena being jealous that Rumple chose Regina…… Regina’s apology to Belle…… Hook’s apology to Belle….. Bae could have witnessed all that, and maybe had a talk with Regina about how he missed being mentored by his papa, and instead SHE got to spend so much time with him.
They could have shown the contrast of how Zelena’s jealousy was so different than Bae’s feeling of possessiveness (he was MY papa, all that time should have been spent with ME) how they each react to this jealousy etc. Zelena wanting to undo Regina, Emma and NEAL would go to the past and NEAL would have seen for himself (after hearing from Zelena) how dedicated his father was all these years to one single goal: finding him. Bae might then feel so sorry for his father that he would want to bring him back whatever the cost.It would have been so fitting, since Emma has already witnessed so many Papa/Bae moments.
The truth is that Hook had no room in this story at all, he wasn’t needed. His presence is so redundant here, that I am sure he is being set up as a villain.Zelena could have kept Neal prisoner so that she could take HIS blood to open the cabinet in Gold’s shop.
But NOOOOOOO Neal doesn’t have enough fanbase precious, precious fanbase… no one will want to watch an entire half season without rumbelle, right?
So now for the rest of the seasons we will see Emma kicking Villains’ butt with her new sidekick Hook, until she finds out what a villain HE is, and then Bae will come back just in time for a happy ending at the end of the show… I’m so sorry, E&A, but this is just not enough for me. I want more than a teeny tiny little happy scene in the end with Bae’s family. Isn’t it enough that he never got a chance to raise his son, he will only see him at the end of the show when Henry is already a young adult? How is this fair?
I don’t get this. WE are also fans aren’t we? Why don’t they pander to US???

ParticipantOh Marty, my heart broke extra for you. You’re screename told me you were a fan of the BTFF movies, and for them to reference THAT movie, of all things in a plot that screamed for Rumple to find a way to bring back his son, only to have him OOC shrug and give it up…
I don’t hate you because even though you don’t quite get Neal the way others do, you at least cared about the story of a father and son, even to the point where THAT mattered to you more than just Rumple’s happiness. I feel it was complicated between Rumple and Neal. Yes, Rumple did go to extraordinary measures to get back to his son, but he crossed lines. He became someone that it was not easy for Neal to understand, trust and let back in. In time, Neal could see what the audience saw in Rumple, but it took time–and the way it ended was a complete slap in the face to what either of their characters were really about. Coward/Hero? No, it was more about a father and son being with each other, learning to love each other again despite the broken trust.
Neal promised Henry he’d be his father, that he would be there and if anything, this ridiculous plea from Emma to not take “dying a hero” away from Neal is a direct slap in the face to what Henry would actually want and who Neal actually was already. It’s Milah part 2 on her part, really, saying to Rumple he should have died rather than tried to be there for his son at the price of being labelled a coward. It’s like all those times Neal fought by Emma’s side against Regina, Pan, Cora– none of THAT made him heroic? What the what? Yet odder than that, is that Rumple would BUY some random person’s word on this. He was actively trying to foretell the future, so he’s just going to suddenly stick his head in the sand because some lady traveling with Hook of all people SAYS so? That doesn’t make sense! It just destroys Rumple’s “both ends against the middle” canniness, his puppet master status just pushed aside to make him seem like a manipulated sheep, and lessens the emotional journey he made to become “more redeemed” Rumple if he was already capable of setting aside his personal happiness for some “greater good”. Maybe they “sell it in the scene” as Adam and Eddy once said in one of their television specials about something that didn’t quite make sense on paper but I think A&E write a lot of stuff and just expect the charisma of their actors to make up for it. Well, that kind of bad writing catches up eventually.
