I’m trying to revisit some of my earlier meta ideas that I couldn’t fully explore until the season was over, but they require rewatching 3B, and right now I just can’t. Just the idea of rewatching 315 hurts too much still, and I never did watch 317 or 320. 3 Months ago I never would have believed you if you told me there would be episodes I would have never seen. I just want to write things, but I can’t without backing up my opinions with facts. I never ever would have thought this is where I would be at the end of the season. Never. 🙁

oh Marty, no words just hugs.  At least Neal did understand that in the end that Rumple loved him and wanted to fix that moment, even if there is not to be much more to the reconciliation than that.

Someone should make the Pink song “who knew” , the video she made features two kids at a carnival even.  Just let me find my Kleenex box first.

In my Entertainment Weekly, they had a whole feature on “heartbreaking” cinema, like Cassablanca.  MRJ unscripted glove moment added so much class and meaning to the scene,, just poignant and while not the right genre for fairytales, it would have worked better if the writers had PLANNED a nourish tragic vibe for SF from the start, but they did not.   Still, I read an essay from someone with a different take on the waterfront thing, that Neal deep down knew he would never really be with Emma except for a little while, because he accepted the tragedy of his life, his fate.  Again, not entirely sure the writing and prior performances capture this quite so much, especially with his talk with Mulan and all that, but if they had done that?  Maybe, would be easier to feel it had a place in the story rather than misdirection and cheap  stake raising (remember, they could not even kill Blue or a monkey Aurora,)

I bet if Jaime Dornhan were available Graham would have come back from the past.

I have mixed feeling about the necklace on wrist next to the shoelace, it puts Graham and Neal on equal footing , diminishes the notion that true love helped the item stay with her.  Things with Graham felt more what might have been, then with Neal it was sort of what once was and might have been again.

“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” -- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass

Unless someone can confirm if she had the necklaces around her neck again once she was back in SB (still haven’t watched so I have no idea), I think she probably just moved them to her wrist so they wouldn’t mix up with the FT clothes that they had to wear while they were stuck in the EF.

She was wearing a turtleneck in SB so you couldn’t see her wearing them, but yes, I believe she just moved the necklaces to her wrist because they’d clash with the FTL costume. No point in going to the trouble of dressing the part if her modern jewellery would then give her away. You can see her circle pendant that she always wears around her wrist too (in the bottom screencap, it’s on the outside of her wrist). She just put both necklaces around her wrist for safe keeping where they wouldn’t be so obviously seen.

I just want to write things, but I can’t without backing up my opinions with facts.

I’ve been thinking at some point of going all the way back to S1 and doing a full rewatch and making up a master list of all the SF breadcrumbs that have been scattered through the story right from the beginning. But I fear that seeing little Bae in flashbacks will be too much for me at the moment. *sigh* (If anyone else feels the urge to do something like that though, you’re welcome to take the idea and run with it.)

Kinda sucks that I feel like I can’t watch S1 and 2 anymore.
My top three favorite episodes deal someway–large or small–with Nealfire.
Skin Deep talks about his missing son
    Manahattan..obviously
A Land Without Magic is about the lengths Rumple goes to, to find his boy.

    Maybe someday…

What happened on Once? They probably asked  themselves why the ratings for S2 were well below S1, and thought the solution would be to push Hook, whom Eddy Kitsis has said is “obviously eye candy” but at the expense of their original characters like Neal. Some of the female executives at ABC were probably putting pressure on the writers to give Hook more screen time and to make him the leading man. Then ABC marketed the heck out of it by putting Hook front and central in most of S3, especially the second half. By the finale, Hook and Emma were front and central probably 90% of the time, with actors like Robert Carlyle playing second fiddle. If you ask me, this will prove to be a big mistake and will probably result in S4 being the final season.

That seems to be a pretty accurate description for what probably went on with Once and ABC. They probably thought to themselves that ratings for S2 were well below S1, and thought the solution would be to push Hook, whom Eddy Kitsis has said is “obviously eye candy” at the expense of their original character Neal. Some of the female executives at ABC were probably putting pressure on the writers anyway to give Hook more screen time and to make him the leading man. Then ABC marketed the hell out of it.

With that in mind it’s also curious that they killed off Neal so early in the half season, rather than waiting until Sweeps to make the most of the death of a series regular. You’d think there would have been more for them to work with, could have made it a bigger deal if it had happened around Sweeps. It would have also given them a lot more time to lead up to the death, rather than it have it shoehorned in so uncomfortably. All that helps build on the Conspiracy Train theory that there HAS to be more than just “bold storytelling” behind the decision.

@KFC if they played up Neal and Emma as the tragic love story I could understand accept that. However the whole second chances, being there always for Henry, lets me know that Neal, Emma, and Henry was not set up as a tragic love story. The whole hugging their parents on the Jolly Roger showed that the lost boy and lost girl were suppose to get that home and second chance with a family. Also there would have been positive buildup with Emma and Neal bonding, talking, going on those dates, have that true love kiss (come on, you know they are. 😉 ). Neal and His Dad talking spending time together, Neal and his Son talking and spending time together. Neal and his love’s family talking and spending time together. Neal and his new friends, Robin and Belle talking and spending time together. Allowing them to finally have that thanksgiving type dinner. Neal truly experiencing those things he missed so much out in life, home and family. If Neal at the end of the day, dies because there was no other way, but like Charming, I’m willing to die for my family. I can accept that has trully fulfilled story arch. But with Neal his story arch ended with a cliffhanger effect with wtf was that and why?

@Slurp I am shock of how down played Robert C has gotten, Rumple used to be the big thing S1 and S2, R&R, Charming family, now its just basically Hook and Regina. Go figure.

S1 ratings were really high even S2 ratings are higher than season 3. Season 3 I believe is their lowest season which is why they brought in Elsa and Frozen franchise.

    1 finale:  9.66, season 2: 7.33  the season 3:6.80.

If things continue is this trend  season 4 finale  would probably be around 5 million, that is ELSA marketing strategy doesn’t work. Now here’s the thing, I am interested in Snow Queen others or most are interested in Frozen. It would be interesting to see where A&E takes it. Not going to lie, despite my bitterness, Snow Queen story interest me lot, but that is only if they go with the whole Elsa wants a boy route, if it becomes CS melodrama that would bore me. But if the focus is on Henry that would interest me a lot. I LOVE SNOW QUEEN.

@Ranisha i agree with you about Frozen, there is only one problem, the GA is waiting for Frozen, not Snow Queen, bc on the 1st Elsa is not a villain, and on the second she is, and if they go play Elsa as a villain i see many and many families not watching the show, if Neal/Bae started, i see Elsa end it, bc no way the GA will accept a Snow Queen, they want Frozen, and no way they want Elsa as a villain. And since they pratically admited that Elsa comes with a revenge story against Rumple that the next season may be the beggining of the end, in fact i dont see them having a S5, and if they have it will be for a small season.

They may also want frozen to gain new viewers, but that is the thing, that means that the new viewers to keep with the epis, will watch previous seasons, and i  really would like to know what will they say, about how S3 erase S1 and S2.

Also the only reason why the media, still isnt saying bad things about the show is Cs, the couple that the online media loves, bc if emma said no on S3 finale, i would see the media pointing all the bad things the show has.

Neal’s death smelled like get him out of here as quickly as possible. Or maybe, we have to have enough time to tell CaptainSwan this season.

Believe in second chances… To die.

Believe a pirate can be a hero… If you redefine hero.

Believe in the impossible… Except Neal’s living. That really is impossible.

@Rainbow They don’t have to go with evil Elsa.

“In a pleasant summer day, splinters of the troll-mirror get into Kai’s heart and eyes while he and Gerda are looking at a picture book in their window-box garden. Kai becomes cruel and aggressive. He destroys their window-box garden, he makes fun of his grandmother, and he no longer cares about Gerda, since all of them now appear bad and ugly to him. The only beautiful and perfect things to him now are the tiny snowflakes that he sees through a magnifying glass.’

The following winter, Kai goes out with his sled to play in the snowy market square and — as was the custom — hitches it to a curious white sleigh carriage, driven by the Snow Queen, who appears as a woman in a white fur-coat. Outside the city she reveals herself to Kai and kisses him twice: once to numb him from the cold, and a second time to make him forget about Gerda and his family; a third kiss would kill him. She takes Kai in her sleigh to her palace, the people of the city decide that Kai died in the nearby river.”

They can go with a lonely and misguided Elsa who sees a boy (Henry) she thinks she is rescuing or helping.

I would love to see Henry will represent Kai who would represent Gerda. I often said I thought if Grace was still around she would make an awesome Gerda, even Wendy Darling could go after Henry for Bae. Okay I admit this is something I have toyed with since season 1. when I thought Regina could be Snow Queen, Henry her Kai, and Grace his Gerda. LOL

Rumple revenge? sighs Henry can still be Kai though
