I just read a really wonderful, chin-up pro-SF post on Tumblr, which I’ll share here (I’ve censored the profanity though):

If you’re really that discouraged by one episode when honestly it wasn’t even that bad for us, then I don’t know what to tell you. Wait, I do, and it’s gonna go something like this…

• Neal loves Emma
• Emma loves Neal
• Neal listened to everything Emma had to say in the cave and never fought with her, he took everything she said and understood it and held her when she just needed to be held
• He told her it was okay and she would never have to apolgoize for her feelings
• He also told her that he is going to fight for her
• But he’s not making any claims or pressuring her or acting like he’s entitled or expecting anything from her
• Emma trusts Neal and his plans and originally wanted just the two of them to go to get the shadow together
• Emma’s response to Hook saying he hoped the kiss meant something was “what meant something was that you told us Neal is still alive”
• Emma’s response to Hook’s proclamation was that the only thing she has to choose is the best way to get her son back
• None of Neal’s annoyance or hurt was directed at Emma, it was only at Hook, and it was brief and pretty mild and I honestly feel like he was instigated a few times
• Neal realized how stupid what he did was and the first thing he did was apologize (Hook still hasn’t)
• When Emma got mad at them, Neal took it because he knew she was right (Hook continued to make remarks about how he was fighting over her)
• Hook continued to be grouchy and upset when they got back, Neal wasn’t and was instead focused on the task at hand
• Neal stopped Emma again to tell her she was right and that Henry is his first priority
• Neal made it clear he expects nothing and isn’t fighting
• Because he knows that is what Emma wants and needs right now, and he also knows that Emma doesn’t owe him anything
• He isn’t treating her like she’s a prize to be won
• Neal respects Emma
• Neal and Emma ended the episode on much better terms than Emma and Hook did
• Emma isn’t going to focus on either of them until Henry is back but because that’s her (and Neal’s) first priority, as it should be
• Which means everyone freaking out about the idea of having to go through more CS kisses or scenes should really not be worrying because after today she’s not likely gonna be kissing anyone on this trip
• Emma just wants Henry back, that’s it, he’s the one she’ll always choose
• But Neal is still the man who is willing to fight for her and who has her back and who she has loved for over ten years and who she probably always will
• The promised to take care of each other
• And when this is all said and done and they are home, Emma and Neal are going to have everything out in the open, they have been completely honest with each other and know where the other stands, they know they are still scared, but they also know they still love each other, and from that point we can watch them build back up to what we know they are
• Just because it isn’t easy doesn’t mean it isn’t going to happen, all love stories have their obstacles
• Happy endings start with hope
• Their story is still poetic and beautiful
• Believe that the lost girl will find her way home
• Believe in second chances

Yes I agree, I don’t like this messages of CS, first one, ” hey If I pretend to be nice guy, I can get the girl” Second one, “A girl can change a him” We all know that a person has to truly want to change for themselves not because of another person. Because they would never get far.

Also I was put off by Hook’s speech all of it,  I was put off by Hook’s sulking because Emma choose Henry. It was wake up call for Neal who realize she was right but to Hook he look as if he got punched in the gut for Emma actually choosing her son over him! I thought I might like this character more this season because Hook was going to man up about Nealfire and honor him by saving his son, but that is not what we are getting. I’m helping you for henry, like I’m help with Neal and your Dad to win you not because its the good thing or the fact that I care about any of them. sighs.

Hi Katie!!!! 😀 I’m so glad to see you posting here and now I have to ask you a question…how long did it take you to read this whole thread!? 😉 I’m guessing a while but I bet it was pretty fun too! I am SO happy that you’re finally here where you can express your SF adoration in more than 140 characters! Twitter can be great but sometimes it’s so darn restricting, LOL 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

Hi Heather! 🙂 It took me all morning to catch up on all the posts here. I loved reading everyone thoughts and views on SF, I’m so glad I’m not alone when it comes to this ship. (It kind of felt that way for a while LOL)

Twitter can be restricting because 140 characters is no way near enough for me to show how much I adore SF! lol 🙂

I thought I might like this character more this season because Hook was going to man up about Nealfire and honor him by saving his son, but that is not what we are getting.

I don’t like the whitewashing that’s happening. Hook, like Neal, has made many mistakes and if Neal has to atone (and he does) then by god so does Hook. You can’t sweep all this under the rug and expect it be ok.

Welcome Katie/MSKT –I adore your videos! I hope I don’t flood you with too many requests 😛 I ‘ll try to be reasonable!

Right now, the song that is haunting me for SF is Pompeii by Bastille.  It feels like these two are seeing so much crumble around them and they may never be able to rebuild, but then again, it also seems like Charming is stuck on NL.  This is an angsty moment so maybe next weeks we’ll get a more optimistic feel !  It can’t stay like this with all the hope sucked out.

 

Ranisha,  I agree! A person has to change because they value change itself, not what it gets them (like Regina s2 gave up because being good did not bring her the expected rewards fast enough). They might be inspired by someone (as Gold is by Belle) but it can’t be their only reason for wanting to be good.  I’d expected more real internal conflict and mature behavior on Hook’s part.  Perhaps him looking wistful as Emma and Neal went off adventuring, then meanwhile if the writers wanted to do CS long term, we’d see how Emma and Neal bicker and fight.  It wouldn’t have anything to do with Hook, but just, these two don’t work.  THEN, Hook’s patience and concern for both of them, and Henry puts his desire for a relationship with Emma in a different light.   That is not what we’re seeing though.  Hook makes clear he’s ONLY here doing what he is doing to impress Emma.   He also makes it clear, he doesn’t like it when she says she’s choosing Henry.  Neal’s response on the other hand, is, he understands and validates Emma’s point of view.

Thank you! I wanted to catch up on the posts before  joined. I agree with you both men have made mistakes. Neal has admitted to his mistakes and understands there is a lot of work to do to get Emma’s trust back while Hook has yet to show remorse for his previous behavior towards her.
