I just rewatched the scene where Emma talks to Hook about David’s cure. Hook is still acting like a petulant child, refusing to answer her questions about his brother (even though she acknowledges that it must be hard to talk about). And he went back to his sexual remarks about how when woman says let’s talk it doesn’t mean talk. *ugh*

Also, I need to say this about the poison but what a WASTED storyline. It was only to set up the CS kiss, wasn’t it? All they needed to do was take some water back to SB and Rumple can make a cure with the stuff in his shop. That’s it? That’s the grand solution?! So really David’s whole poison storyline was just in service to the kiss. Ok.

It’s a clear warning sign when a man can’t take hearing a woman is putting her child first while that child’s life hangs in the balance. He was still sulking from being put in his place, even though Emma is clearly focused on saving Henry.

. And he went back to his sexual remarks about how when woman says let’s talk it doesn’t mean talk. *ugh*

After Emma said they needed to talk, Hook said, “I’ve found when a woman says that I’m rarely in for a pleasant conversation.” I don’t think Hook was making an overt sexual remark here. Yet, it was a sexist thing to say, as if a woman saying those words “we need to talk” automatically means she’s upset with a man. While those words might signal a woman’s upset, Emma was seeking his help. Way to be a hero about it. Oh wait, that’s right, you just shut down when Emma says Henry comes first. Way to be a man-child about it while Neal stepped up to the plate to try and save his son.

Yeah, it was all about making Hook out to be a “hero” this season, but really, he just wanted to coerce a kiss. Talk about a plot device!

Yes you’re right. I misheard. But yes, still a sexist remark and cruel seeing as Emma wants information about her father dying and how to save him. Especially given how according to Hook his whole motivation for the lying was to make sure David didn’t die.

So, should we be concerned about that the fact they completely skipped over Emma learning the history between Nealfire and the Darlings? I mean that would have been really big for SF

I’m hoping that Wendy could reveal that backstory to Emma once they’re heading back to SB, but….yeah, it seemed like a glaring omission. Having Emma find Wendy and Neal reuniting with Wendy might have been a good time for Emma to go, “Wait, how do you know each other?”

Little SF moment that I loved was when Regina and Emma were starting to do the moon magic, and Neal instantly got up and walked around behind them. I could hear him thinking, “I’ve got your back, Emma,” and he was gonna be there to catch her if she needed it, because he’d already seen her thrown backwards onto the ground that day. It’s split second, blink and you’ll miss it, but when he standing behind them, he’s watching the moon, and his eyes dart really quickly to Emma, then back to the moon, like he’s checking that she’s handling it OK.

    *squee*

I did notice that he moved up behind her to protect her.

No because I think the saving Henry thing is finally at the front of everyone’s minds which is kind of what should be happening now that we’re getting closer to the fall finale next month. I think Emma is going to have questions for him about that family for sure but that may have to wait until they get Henry back. She looked bewildered when Wendy and Nealfire started talking and DARN IT, I really wanted to see her face when Wendy talked about how she and her brothers came to Neverland to save Neal and that’s how they got trapped. Neal looked stunned that anyone would think about his safety first…probably because so few people have done that for him. Emma’s demeanor when Neal was asking Wendy for help was not only one of a worried mother but definitely one of a woman who wanted to ask Neal a lot of questions. I think that part of the story will still be told at some point. Who knows where it fits into these upcoming episodes though!

Count me as another who LOVED when Neal told his father that he wasn’t making any more deals…he was going to help Emma’s father because it was the right thing to do. I did see Emma’s face during that part and she looked surprised and overwhelmed by Neal standing up to his papa that way. GO NEAL!!! 🙂
